Heh guys,

I miss all the fun of the previous DIY.. wasn't aware of it... regret now... anyway I'll be interested in getting my fuel usage extended like mentioned above... probably next DIY...

Need some expert advice

My top box is making lots of noise. The box cover is lose on one side. Looks like it got dented because of the heat of the sun. Any suggestions on how to reduce or stop the noise? Its irritating listening to that sound while riding my ST.

Thanks BROS...

rajeh_bp,

try stuff some sliced of good quality styro foam onto base plate before u click it on, cheapo technique but very effective conventional method. :D

u'll be informed of the next DIY session.

After the heavy rain yesterday, I decided to wash and polish my bike, and I sure glad I did............

I notice that my left pannier latch, the one near the pillion foot peg was unlatch. Upon futher investigating, I noticed that it was plied open. Seem to me like a half done job, perhaps someone walked pass when the culprit tried to steal my pannier. Thank goodness the attempt was unsuccessful. All I need to do is bend back the latch and it is now working fine.

I have heard of someone's pannier being plied open and things stolen. Beware. Perhaps I should go fix theft alarm.

Hey Leo,

U are the 1st case where they plied your lock at the foot peg....

That i call a major project... cause our side pannier cost between

S$800-1000 ... suspect its a Very desperate and smart person that knows

about ST1100 ...

Be careful as many of the Bros have had their pannier plied opened

from the top... means they only want whatever is inside...

But huh ... from the main lock ??? Fishy hor....

BEWARE !!!

What a bad experience.

I usually cover up the bike if left unattended for few hours. This will kinda discourage ' unauthorized attempt' or make the it less easy.

Do let me know if you've found a good alarm system. We may even get a betta offer if mass order. I believed the money spent will be well worthy.

ngleo,

sorry to hear it.

TheReds,

there r so many brands of alarm & features offered here, what we need is those with less sophisticated feature & reasonably good quality.

Do you mean your side box was stolen too? Or do you mean your side box was broken into? If it is the same way of operation that means the thief is on the prowl. We really need to beware.

During the DIY session, atk demonstrated the Acuman alarm which is installed on his ST. when alarm is activated and side or top box open, it sounded. I thought that is quite cool.

I have the intention to install it before the breakin attempt. Looks like I have to get it done asap.

Leo,

I found out in the forum that Acumen Cat3 can be installed at Vector One but, not sure what is the cost and how is the workmanship...

Where and when do you intend to get one? You lead, I follow. Betta be safe than sorry...

Inputs are welcome from everyone...

Was planning to ride to Ko Samui. Anyone has any advise to give regarding the ride itself and the ferry trip? Also, road conditions on the island?

u mean when the either box is opened the alarm goes off? or is it purely by the "vibration" caused by the latches?

coz i dunno got alarm that senses the openin of our pannier box latches, unlike cars... hope can understand what i mean..

my alarm is that, after setting to most sensitive, when i open the latch, and purposely let it go so it snaps back, the alarm triggers.. :sian:

Drink. Ride. Bloody Idiot.

I was surprised with the demo given. Strangely, with the box lid open, it has got this chirpping sound, though not the actual alarm, it is good enough to deter any would be thief. If box remain open, alarm will activate after a while. I check the box and find it amazing that no wire or sensor connected. It may sounds like this alarm system is extremely sensitive, but when seated on bike without some kind of movement, alarm is not activated.

The cool thing is that it comes with intergrated remote control with bike key. Check out http://www.acumen-electronics.co.uk/index_LATEST_NEWS.html and you will know what I mean. I was told by this guy that he got it installes at Vector 1.
