I have had friends of friends who have traveled on 2T bikes from Penang all the way to Singapore with only a short rest for a meal in between so it definitely can be done. I haven't done that though...but I know it can be done :)

When are you doing it?

i went to Sungei Lembing (Kuantan) with my sp. went to Muar too on my wave. all you is to do some servicing before the trip and remember to bring 2t. number of bottles to bring depends on ur 2t consumption. i only used 1 1/2 bottles of 2t when i went to & fro from sungei lembing.

is not the distance u need to consider..

is the rpm that u need to consider..

dun maintain at high rpm for too long..

onli using high rev if u are going to overtake..

i have a sp went genting wif mi last time.. i juz make sure that he can keep up without maintaining high rev for his bike for too long..

maybe just my 2 cents. get a partner. touch wood*, but if anything were to happen you can count on another bike to help you around. always think of what can happen and prepare for it.

i suggest u put a capful of 2t in every full tank...

also wear earplugs to reduce fatigue.u wld feel refresh even after 2hrs of non stop riding.

anyways check with if ur mito have the valve wic controls ur rpm?if u do u shld service it b4 u go up north.

i used to ride up n down kl with an old RD125 n the first time i went up...it was fine for the first hr but den later the power valve got stuck n it took me 9hrs to reach klang from singapore...had to stop every 10 min to cool down the bike..

but after goin to the legendary sentul..they serviced the valve n it ran like new

.usually take 4 hrs for an old bike rd125 from spore to kl..

oh yes...u shld maintain high rpm for max 10 mins.....den u slow down to highway speed for 10 mins den go back high rpm for 10 mins...

this is to prevent the piston from overheating....n oh yes...u can ride ur bike from full tank to reserve non stop if u like.....

oh yes wear a full face at least...even how cheapo....i wore a 5 yr old full face n got into an accident b4 ayer keroh there....prevents me from having a concussion even when i hit the tarmac hard on my jaw.....managed to push my bike off the road n 2 big container lorries raced past.stupid accident since i pushed my bike even though my tire sidewall was cracked....tot wanna change in kl...please avoid my can be preventable blunder k...

..hope this helps...avoid my blunder k...hhaahaa

Edited by pufferfis

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

I have travelled to Malacca on my Husky125 2stroker.

What I did:

. ensure bike in good condition before trip eg. E.O., tyre pressure, 2t pump topup, clutch cable, brake pads, etc.

. Earplugs is a must as its bloody noisy...hahaha...

. Fullface, riding jacket, rainwear

. As my bike topspeed is not that great, i only maintained an ave speed of 90km/h which means I had to travel on the road shoulder like the other slower bikes.

If you travel on shoulder, keep a lookout for cars that had broken down and dead lizards (hahahaha)...look far ahead and avoid dangers.

Brace yourself when passing or when passed by big trucks or bus, as there are heaps of wind turbulence that can unbalance you.

watch out for BIG potholes, which is not a biggie for my motard suspension but i suspect may not be too good on your mito.

. Tools, and spares eg. fuses, lightbulbs etc.

. Tow truck numbers eg. bikebulance?

. insurance (might wanna consider travelling insurance @ $24 for 3days)

. Bike registration and insurance papers

. I take breaks based on "arse input sensor" kekeke.... which works out to be about every 60km.

I am also planning another trip up muar b4 CNY, so I might see u OTR, have a safe and great trip!!!

It can be done...

Just make sure you hit it out to above 7K RPM @Gear 6...

2T motor needs care on 2T lube mainly.

Watch the temp. gauge

Thats all...

Have a safe trip!

Kool!

P.S.: My former Aprilia only made it up to Simpang Renggam and then it quit on me. Not quite spectacular a record, but meh I guess it was worth trying out how far that italian stallion could go lol.

Anyways, to answer the threadstarter's question, I'm going to second the 2T. And the 2T intake as well -- not too little to cause poor lubrication.

Moreover, a Mito is an electric start bike. Make sure the electrics aren't suffering in any way because it can be pretty scary if you just switch off the bike and it wouldn't start anymore due to issues with the battery charging system (i.e. rectifier, wires and harness splitting or cut/connected poorly, etc...)

I knew my Aprilia was that moody sometimes. She became my beloved ex girlfriend ;)
