Was riding back just now and noticed a lot of TP activity, wondering what was up. Anyway, as I was going past a deserted bus stop along upp thomson, saw a lone TP bike parked in the bus bay, TP had his helmet off and was standing next to his bike.

It got me thinking. What's his purpose of being there? Not saying he's skiving or anything, just merely curious. If he's there and he's out to catch errant motorists, it'd take him longer to respond with the helmet off. e.g. have to flip on helmet, give chase. If he was there to deploy mobile speed cam, then if some crazy drunk driver goes dashing past, he'll have to pack the camera and give chase, or abandon camera and give chase.

Therefore, the question is, do these TP actually deploy cameras to capture speeding motorists? like certis cisco, record already, go back analyse and issue summons.

Or is their purpose the apprehension of errany motorists? e.g. laser gun, catch the guy speeding, then give chase.

And, doubly sure it's not the Certis Cisco guy in white shirt. It's a proper TP bike with the correct plate and blinkers.

PS: was travelling at legal speeds to see what the dude was up to.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

Give the TP a break la. You also need to rest wat rite. Imagine so many hours on the road.

not saying that he doesn't deserve to rest what. i did mention that i wasn't saying he was skiving or anything of that sort. naturally, we're all humans, and everyone needs to rest now n then, nothing wrong with that.

i was just being curious as to whether they could also be deploying mobile speed cams because helmet off and stopped. also rode past 3 TP bikes earlier, so was wondering if there was some kinda op in that area. cuz afaik only the private contractors e.g. certis and others do so. for the tp, if they did and ppl run past dangerously, what do they do w the camera equipment is all.

reiterate, not saying that TP should not rest or is slacking. all riders anyhow.

sidenote, didn't know TP had scooters. saw another 3scooters + 1 regular bike. all TP plate, the scoots were 900++ plates.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

possible, since there were so many in such a small amt of time and all in the same area. not bothered by the TP, was never bothered by it at all. like said, was just being curious. always watching the roads, which is why saw tp from far far away. road clear left right n centre. just kaypoh abit. the only thing which woulda happened then would be monkey fall from tree. have seen it happen along that stretch before.

Is it ard 12 plus pm u saw that TP ??

yep, that's right, around 1 i think, thereabouts. you were going past that place too?

TP have scooters.. the new gilera ST200.. and spacey.. mostly deployed for female TP officers.. and sometime to male TP officers during major deployments..

TP on blinkers, everybody must siam what.. and all will guai guai stick to their lane and not do anything stupid..

anyway, certis cisco have the exact same bike as TP now.. same model, same box, same blinkers.. only the plate different.

fight with the monkey, i think it'd be scarier for other motorists. haha.

the one that fell on the road, got smacked by a car in front, then i ran over it by accident........had monkey goo splattered on my jeans and boots.

well, not entirely sure it was a monkey, might be a cat, but, i wasn't exactly able to see what it was eh.

not saying they shouldn't take a break la, just being curious as to whether they actually deploy cams, and what would they do to their equipment if drunk hiongster come along, abandon camera ignore the hiongster. it was a curiosity thing.

true dat, but then, how fast will you be willing to speed, have to run even faster to get away from him! sekali he's the red herring, flush you into running fast into a roadblock up ahead!

but sometimes these TP work in a team to catch ppl doing illegal riding. Like for example those at the Sim Lim Tower. Some bikers ride illegally in from the exit to siam ERP then the one in the bus bay will coms to the other 2 inside the carpark to stop the rider and book him.

even if they aren't doing anything, their presence is enough to scare road users.

i see TPs i scared liao. even if i didn't do anything wrong.

even if they just stand at road side without a bike. lol

Ever riden under the hot sun while your nuts are boiling over the hot engine. Not to mention the tight pants and big squeeze that he receives from the fuel tank every now and then. Give those nuts a break.

And I'm not saying they should not take a break. Just a humorous suggestion as to why he has to stop by the road;)

anyway, unless they are on the move.. at least show some respect and they wun bother u. beware of the wrx though.. unless u are prepared to run at over 200kph on our small island's road..

As riders, I dun think it's a big deal evading a WRX if you're riding a bike higher than 400CC, subject to traffic on the road.

Of course I won't recommend it but a man has to do what a man has to do. hehe
