Bike key lost - Need solutions

What happens if the bike key is misplaced and key missing? Bike handle locked and no way to unlock bike. Any solution?? How to duplicate a key without a key? :cry: Newbie here

 

there is way to unlock the handle bar..

u will have to dismantle the ign from the yoke(provided the lock is integrate wif ign)..

if yr bike under hire purchase, u can ask for spare keys from the shop..

tow and change ignition, duplicating a key without a key is like getting pregnant without having erm...

A good locksmith should be able to lock pick your ignition and cut a spare for you.Dun have any contact to recomend tho but look up the yellow pages and there will be plenty.Charges can on the high side but it beats having to change the ignition,the tank and probably the lockset under the seat.All this is possible provided your key are not those with embedded electronics like the Honda Integrated Ignition System.

 

The last time I had to do this was way back in 1989.Back then,there is a locksmith that was stationed at Newton Hawker Centre carpark.Luckily that unclewas there and all he did was walk to my bike with some of his trade tools.Took out a blank key file,test,file again,test again and he was done after a few tries.Skillful I shall say but that set me back by $90.For a student,it was like daylight robbery but then all that was due to my negligence.

no need to change ignition. go to the locksmith next to ah boy. they will charge you $30 for 2 spare keys. Experienced situation before. so changing ignition is a wrong move.

How Can You Not Have A Spare Key One?? Never Thought Of This Kind Of Scenario Before Right? Hahaha. Well For Me, I Have One Key With Me Which I Use Everyday. One More At Home. The Other One With Me Also Just That I Keep It Separately Just In Case Im Outside Then I Lost My Key, I Still Can Go Home With The Other One I Have On Me.

like tat i nid to duplicate keys and hide it at all MRT stations, so tat whenever i lost my key, there's always a nearby solution.. haha.. jus kidding bro..

LOL!!! ya hor, maybe put 1 at necklace, 1 at bracelet, 1 at anklet, 1 as earring, keys everywhere.. haha..

 

or put superglue at the key den insert at the bike, so tat the key will not be lost, but bike will be gone someday.. haha...

including the normal neighbourhood ones

 

some shop dont have the blank key for certain brand (e.g. holland village mr minit doesnt have yamaha blank key)... most should have though

yes they do operate on weekend.until 5-6pm if im not wrong.

 

any locksmith can duplicate keys.just check your key got any chip attach to it a not.if not you will have to find some specialist locksmith.

i have tried quite a few locksmith.. but all don't do kymco keys.. so abit headache ...

Try to leave one at home and one with a trusted friend. That's what I've done. Worked fine for me.
