Oh you'll be surprise how fashionable Clark shoes are.

Its just that in SG they only have the 'old man business-liked' models...

I was in UK sometime back and seen those more 'trendy' ones. Just the mindset of many of us have with clarks. Many of us would go for timberland, ACG, etc than clarks hahaha :offtopic:

Hi Fooz,

I checked out Hein Greikel (spelling?) while in Sheffield.

Nope they ain't cheap even when on sale.

However, I did buy a set of oxford bags through ebay which i think is quite ok. They are older models and since oxford origin from UK I guess its a pretty good deal.

You can however look out for other sales cos in the UK they are usually genuine compared to the SG expo sales that go on and on...

Clarks shoes for example are definitely cheaper in the UK.

R u a student there now or on business trip?

hein gericke, u mean..

yea, i checked it out on the german online webby.

still ex or same price after conversion to sing $.

oxford, hmm..

u bought the side panns?

hw much isit? n cheaper by hw much?

yea,clarks shoes..

prob will take a look when im in UK...

yeap, m a student but on internship in germany

FOR SALE (PM for more details)

I bought a complete Oxford set at new condition from ebay uk. (panniers, tailbag and tankbag)

It was an basic and older design model which went for abt £60 for the complete set. including UK postage.

I though it was reasonable as each part if purchase separately probably cost more than S$60 anyway..

This will increase the total luggage capacity to around 140L combined with my Givi Maxia 52.

Have yet to fully utilize them as yet.

As Barra mentioned, price wise seems to be rather similar so the alternative is to look out for major bike shows, sales, or maybe ebay.

went around town shopping for some equipement. this SFG that brings us ard is a biker. so knowing i rides too he brought me to 1 of his bikers house. when i enter his small workshop behide the house i was amused. there was 01 x GSX1300R, 01 x YZF750, 02 x ZX-12! thought those were his bikes but its not. this fellow well know among the bikers in Fayetteville that many of them get him to coustom their bike. look around this small workshop & very amused by it! this little place of ~200sqft is better equip them most of the motor tiam u find in S'pore:thumb:

we tok cok alittle & i ask abt his bike his gf show me into the house. when i walk into the house my jaw drop :lovestruck: sitting rite in the living room there is this R1 & a drag bike. ask y the bikes not in the garage he say the bikes r too precious to be laying ard in the garage :giddy:

ask abt his drag bike he show me the many trophy & bike mag that has his bike on it. it's a bike he build his own. he show me th pics taken of the bike from just a piece of old Katana 1000cc engine, bought a frame, bore the engine...ect till it is now & he calls it the "Beast." it has both turbor & nitro on the bike & the hp messured on the wheel was 458  now he stop racing he fix a road tyre to the front so he can ride it on the road.

then we come to his gf R1...ok bro i can't find words for it...its...its...my god beautiful:lovestruck: u put miss universe beside this R1 u will prob ignor her! it is painted in orange & the paint work is hundreds time better then paying $1000 in S'pore & he did all this in that some workshop  he say now that seldom rides on his "Beast" so he & his gf share her R1. he said he not use to it & he's going install a turbor on it :slapforehead: a R1 is not fast enough for him :faint:

sh*t head i didn't have my cam with me! i promise i'll visit this guy again take some pics & post it here:thumb: Btw he is a thai, ya came from the land of thousand smile Thailand

eh comics00 dun slang can or not??? Wats SFG? o_O

Well u are now in the land of the free....anything goes man.....they dun have laws like what we have in SGP to curb our creativity and being so globalised to the extent where the ultimate goal of a business is to make $$$. (Ironic that we are trying to promote creativity  ) How & where can you find people whom are passionate about custom building and take pride in their work??? I'm sure there are people in SGP whom have got the talent but these talent are often hidden and suppressed by the way SGP is run. We can't have best of both worlds. If SGP were to let loose like freedom land, you'll get other social problems surfacing. Do we want that? Or are we able to handle that? Dun stress...theres no right or wrong answer hahahaha.

Lastly....like what they alway say in the army..SOP item---> Camera!!!!

i believe if you can read german, there should be a ton of good stuff and maybe cheap stuff to grap from germany ebay. Not forgeting many foreign based shops does not want to ship international due to the hassle involved. Grap your chance now and hunt for all the things you will ever need. But of course, you got to have really good planning before purchasing anything in case they become a white elephant... not forgetting a big fat wallet with unlimited supply of euros.....

as for ebay, try to buy from ebay shops instead of pte sellers if u r worried. u can rely on their feedback to determine if they are genunie. sad to say locals here do not trust the functionability of ebay whereas in the UK it was so successful that Yahoo auctions (UK) was closed to make way for ebay. I use to sell many unwanted items and also bought many items using cheques, bank transfers while in the UK. None of them made a run after I sent the money. Not even pte sellers but they of course must have a credible rating.

One reason being those countries are so huge that it is impossible to meet up, view, inspect and pay cash to the seller. Hence paying by card, bank transfer, cheque seem to be the normal way to go. Of course, you have to make careful decisions of who, how and what to buy in the first place.

Furthermore, ebay has increased security by providing escrow services. etc.. You are bound to hear horror stories also but in the end... no venture .. no gain.. is what i like to believe.

Finally, my answer - i bought from ebay shop.

Ok, i admit... i went off topic... go ahead and shoot me. :cheeky:

In general, ebay stores tend to have a higher reserve price and its kinda fixed. But they are pretty reliable as they have a reputation to keep. Private sellers on the other hand can sell you stuff at rock bottom prices with no reserve tag sometimes. Its quite unbelievable how much some stuff can be sold for like a pair of 99% new R1 calipers with pads for $20-$50!!! Most private sellers are reliable (check their rating) Just do your homework and its generally fine. There's always some risk involved but thats what we have to do to get good deals right?

FOREST EDGE OXFORD PRODUCTS SHOP is the shop I bought from.

No idea if the offer is still availlable as last checked 2 units were left from a total of 30 units offered initially.

Barra, u'll be surprise how cheap I've sold my stuff on yahoo auctions while in the UK. It's actually down to the seller, how he values his items. To me, anything that is useless to me, no matter how expensive or new it is, I will sell it even if I made a loss. Keeping it will only take up space and allow depreciation to take place.

Here's a valuable insider tip. Another reason why things are sold cheaply on auctions online is because these things might not come to them in legal means in the first place therefore selling it and converting them to cash online is the only logic. considering they might have a 100% profit margin, who cares if they are under market value....

Disclaimer: My postings/ thoughts are not to be quoted or used against me in any way. I'm just a person with too much time on my hands.... well .. sometimes......

Cheers and I think i need some sleep now..... o_O

There i go again.... off topic....:offtopic: :cheeky:

Hi, just need some advice from you guys. I manage to source out a TDM850 for $8000. To me, t's worth it. Outlook and sounds seems ok to me but didn't have a test ride.

Any ideas what else do I need to look out for?

OLD NO GO, NEW NO COME.
