Yamaha's TDM is one of biking's best kept secrets...

+1.

I absolutely agreed...i kept changing bikes...but still wish we have the 900motor to a more adventure frame bike....not 900engine in the XTZ frame....too ol skool...I want a more modern outlook...

For a person like me who spends his time more facing the monitor than out there doing justice on adventure....

We seek nothing more, nothing less....just passion.

Wat about the KTM 990 Adventure?

spoken to 990 rider, that bike must be ride hard... slow speed or low rev will jerk, and easy to heat up on city traffic.

conclusion: not for average joe (not joekia) like you and me.

No!!

Never want to own any ktm again...

I would love if the tdm parallel twin inside the ktm adv..

I hv rode side by side with patrick(the angmoh on the adv990) on few occasions..

My 1st ride with him,he crash infront of me..well..cant believe that such tough mean looking bike straightaway peeing engine oil from beneath..it suffered a crack underneath the engine casing..

Our conclusion could due to poor design of the sidestand which mount on the engine instead of the frame as the impact of his crash hits directly on the sidestand.

Another scenerio, when we're in thailand..his bike fall during dismounting it frm mainstand.his sidestand sensor switch broke, bike cant start n unable to bypass that dumb switch..luckily the mech was brilliant..able to modified it with some cheap switch..

Cant tell much of his engine at this point of time,as was we're judging now is from a bike which has a milege of less than 7000km up till now.imagine if you buy a 2ndhand ones with milege at least 70,000km...doubts all over..

And basically, the 990 is better over the 950...

He is one capable rider... he didnt put on any crash bars / engine guard.

i asked him why not ... and he replied .. "crash bars feels like gay" :cheeky:
