hmm. does it means u can lock the GPS to the bracket? I.e, never need to remove the gps liao?

Also, by mounting to the windscreen, is it too far away? I find it might be hard to access the gps leh. however, u r right, if u have that windscreen adjustment, of cos dun waste

Yes.the touratech MvG nuvi500/550 holder comes with key lock and vibration absorber.it is hard to remove but not 100% thief Proof if u left it over night.more like leave the unit lock during a road trip & bring it up hotel while u rest.

Of course if the touring place u park is 100% guarded then surely u can leave it at the bike.

The touratech windscreen adjustor comes with adjustable gps bar height too so it suit to most rider.

Why not talk to mtechnik.they should he able to Point u to the right direction.

Or if u wan a fix position then SW motech has a windscreen bracket holder Which position it just above the speedo like the touratech.however once u have the SW motech,u can't fit the tourateh windscreen adjustor as they fight for the same 4 hole on the head cowl.haha

Not sure abt nuvi300, as I'm using nuvi500 which touratech has made for it.

Had u try sw motech case type? It waterproof & more universal to suit other gps model.

Regarding run-in, 3 camp of supporter.

1- follow the user manual(soft run-in)

2-dyno run-in( hard run-in)

3- manual semi-hard run-in for engine & smooth gearbox run-in(mild)

I below to the last camp supporter.

Dyno hard run in is best done when the bike is straight from the crate. That mean the first crank of the engine starts dyno hard running in. If you have rode the bike out to the road, dyno hard run in is outta picture.

So far if pre-arrange with bike shop.dyne run-in is possible.

However having tried one on a CBR RR.I find the process is just too tiresome for me.

So I opt for semi run-in.both gearbox & engine.

Now that the S10 start to loose up.high rev is much better now.:)

As for gps, Nuvi500 will b a really good choice as it's waterproof.. Zumo 660 has bigger screen n glove friendly button but almost twice e price. :)

Zumo series are worth it salt as it comes with bluetooth and mp3 player.

good for in-helmet direction instruction and also NSHW music player...lol

Nuvi500 is more of the color touchscreen but does not have bluetooth.so the only way is to look at the unit often which is also why it abv the speedo. keke

If you are into riding for long years ahead. Its good to invest in a good GPS system. My Garmin Zumos 500 had served me for 4 years now. She is still doing very well. During these 4 long years, she had companionship of 3 bikes and 1 car. This will go on to the next bike so on and so forth. Mounting point is universal and she can be used with a car mount too. Whatever $$$ i had paid in 2008 has already been fully utilised to every single cents.

One GPS to serve both car and bike. Its the same cost of buying a gps for your car and another specially for bike.

Btw, got some qn regarding agent warranty.. We haf to go back Hong Leong for servicing for e first 3 times right? Is there a certain mileage then we can go back?

Im collecting my bike coming friday, then will b heading to Melaka over e weekebd. When I'm back, e bike shld have clocked ard 500km, n I wanna change oil. Can do it in Hong Leong n consider as 1 servicing?

For running, Im intending to ride normally but just dont prolong e throttle for rpm above 3900. Shld be hitting say 4500 once a while but will not hold it ba. Any opinions?

depend on your term of sales. the two service provide by HL is 1000km & 3000km. ONLY Labour is FREE. EO & filter is chargable.

if u fail to return for the two service then the warranty is 6mth or 6000km. if u went back then it 12mth or 12000km.

book ur svc slot fast. i book mine when i collect bike and it 5weekend away for earliest SAT slot.

1st svc - shaft oil will be change as well. do ask HL to grease the rear shaft and bearing(chargable) as advice by a mech from else where.

The S10 engine will loose up when the more u ride. :)
