looking at weekly, most still unable to punch thru resistance or support

Besides trading vol have been decreasing

also this friday is triple witching hour, I dunno which way it will go

i think i rather wait for the break before taking action

 

unless ure watching it by the min, taking action after might be a little late, u miss the bulk of it.

 

the other way is to buy the rumour n sell on news.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

 

Others think for themselves.

 

They go their own way.

took profit on some Keppel corp, another $1500 in the pocket.

 

cautious trading.

 

yes, Joekia, i'm still holding to about $60k worth of Sembcorp and Keppel Corp.

if it goes up, i slowly take profits.

Just bought 20 lots on genting sp on monday, very gd review on this share...

 

Upz all the way...

 

The RSI is above 70 for Genting.

I bought in when it was 0.715 and exited a few weeks back.

 

And it's now down to just below 1.10 from near 1.20 since the 1-for-5 at 0.80 announcement.

 

I want to see what 18 Sep brings once the extra shares rights enter the market.

Lews.. After the long long consolidation... Why not wait it out and see if Sembcorp breaks 3.50

 

sold some Sembcorp at $3.41 earlier this morning.

immediately it dropped to $3.35

 

Anyway , still have some more Sembcorp, holding on to those.

 

loaded on a very little bit of Starhub just $10k, play play.

if come off below $2.10 will add another $10k

Yeah, im currently studying biz admin... Lol, but stock/finanace related stuffs are not really fully covered...

 

So i do have some questions regarding investing in shares...

 

Firstly, how do you purchase perference shares of a company? would appreciate if someone can give me some guidelines in steps.. :angel:

 

Next, what does the STI index actually mean? average price of all shares in SG or smth?

Other than a few blue chips, I speculate & punt. :angel:

 

 

Let's be honest. Most "investors" are really speculators. More so especially when everything is so volatile.

Most securities are either exchange traded or OTC.

Pref shares also the same.

Want to buy, just get your broker to buy loh.

 

STI is just a weighted index of a basket of stocks chosen to represent the SG market

 

maybe you can wait for year 2 / 3 where you may learn statistical studies, your lectures should cover these topics.

most corporate and applied finance modules have the fundamentals u need to know n should answer your how, what and why queries.

 

anything more, u can go tap on yr professors brain or someone working in the field. :angel:
