actually, following past monday's close above 1104, it is like confirming a near term base n turning higher.

this is also proven by failing to overcome range lows and 15mth trendline support, oversold daily momentum and extreme readings in sentiment.

CFTC shows net speculative length at its lowest levels since 07/2009, meaning, clearing the decks of overhead supply.

bears should need a break of 1069 to regain control.

many thanks for your updates.

holy cow, tank again during NY session probably due to dollar strength ... don't have live price but seem to still hold at 1070

i think many buyers (e.g India) are waiting for better prices

as of the moment, it should stay above, no issues.

as soon as this was made, we took out the 1074 lows! that low was re-visited (from below) after breaking thru, and that should be taken as a cue to get out!!!

by no means has the mkts bottomed out yet for 2010.

not good news, but money can still be made on the way down. :)

actually, I'd prefer to say "the mkts have Topped out for 2010".

after breaking the 1069 to reach 1059, the 1069 was re-visited, whcih again, should be taken as a sell signal!

Anyone here trade the GC contracts? I traded on the shorts last nite, made some decent $$$...

As said, Dow would be heading towards the 9400-9500 before it can find some form of support/consolation, numbers to watch for on the SPX would be 1044-1048 region.

Happy Shorting !!!

i deliver drips n draps of info here n there, i cannot say too much as sometimes with such stuff, one can never be 100% or if it is, i might not be allowed to say anything in the first place. :)

as long as we are better off at the end of the day, dats all that matters.

Nah. Don't wanna stick my finger into too many pies.

Shorting is a risk for me, 'cos I don't wanna do CFD, so it's gotta be an intraday trade.

one of the biggers movers of last year were mons n fri for CL

expect the unexpected :D

when it rains, it pours, look at the next next level of support then reconsider.

looks like it will retest 1031 but likely to use 1000 as a base.

I've tried trading the CL contracts intraday B4, but some how couldnt manage to trade too many diff things intraday, so decided to stick to my ES,EX & CL, besides mid-term stocks & ETFs...

CLs are large, $1 = $1,000 ! :thumb:

Yup, that is for 1 lot.

But most trade in 20s min.

If one got the direction right the last 2 days for the 7 bucks down, thats USD$140g's.

what a decent ang bao.

And the Dow rebounds. That's quite a large rebound.

This has been picture-perfect for me on Fri nite, when I covered back all my short positions. I seldom like to post charts, but check this one out on the S&P, look at the date when it was first created - 29th Jan, look at where the Strong Support level was projected, and hit almost to the dot!!!

What is the "20s min"??? mini-size contracts of the CL? I know that there's a mini-GC, which is the YG, which is 1/3 of the full-size.

Sorry, too many short forms, let me rephrase that.

I meant lot sizes of about 20 minimum on current front month contracts and many times more on future months depending on other factors, eg. narrowing contango, etc.

this is for CL, not the ones on the mini 500.

interesting that hoarding oil also can profit ... but what's the state of contango now, does narrowing contango benefits the producers? thanks!

good read from PIMCO Bill Gross ~ including charts of current state of debts & deficits in various developed countries

Investment Outlook Feb 2010 - Ring of fire

This type of materials are really good for reading - and that's just about it. Doesnt aid much to my trading style, which is very short-term, and TA-based.

You read the book "The Dollar Crisis" ??? They fall in similar lines, but to trade based on these long-term fundamentals? Would prob kill me....

just my 2 cents worth of rumblings....
