The lense is not for sports. It's for scenic photo shoots, especially taking from a seashore to taking from a hill. In Malaysia I'll get to use it

Never heard of anyone using a zoom for scenery shoot...

it's all part of experimenting. Besides, I've seen cases where a hut is all the way across the field. The zoom lense will help to magnify the hut.

Here's a bit constrained to use the zoom lense, but it's very handy in Malaysia

True, but be sure to use a tripod or either, the day has got to be very sunny in order not to avoid handshake.

won't be a problem. Tripod can fit into the sidebox or saddlebag. With VR lense, vibration is reduced, so still can be able to shoot properly

i prefer 18-200mm VR for lanscape & general photography.

at least i got a 18mm wide angle to cover close distance.

anyway, still saving money for it, last month spent $2.5k to renew my bike COE & insurance, damn the gov....

I've got a EF 50mm f/1.8. :thumb: Excellent pics!

Recommend the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro. Excellent optics for the price ($300).

my personal favs are cathay and john.. i think the hallmark of a good shop (to me) is that the staff are fine with knowledge sharing.. i can walk into john's and browse for up to an hour, trying different lenses and asking all sorts of qns, and eventually not buy anything w/o offending the boss. That says alot about the fact that they are not just trying to earn ur dollar.

gotta agree that usually for the big brands, canon etc..not much discount u can get from the big shops. other accessories can discuss..haha! bought a lowepro stealth reporter 200 last wk... 100 bucks from cathay..they had 50% off..now dunno have or not

in hunt for tripod now..

From the ice cream man bike aka my little black lamb RX100..to All Blacks Bandit 400, to the legendary 1285 bandit;)

I'd say rather than to go for multiple upgrades, why not save first, bite the bullet and get a SB800.

Lots of people waste lots of money on upgrades e.g. SB400 to SB600 to SB800.

I'm using SB600.

It is better than SB400, with lots more function.

i got SB600 because my cousin wedding, if not i'll wait till the SB400 come out then buy SB400. cheaper and meet my needs.

What do you intend to use yur flash for?

i checked and asked a lot of people, no doubt SB800 is the best, but do we really need the extra function on SB800? pay $300 more for something that we dont use is a waste.
