Hi,

Just one stupid question. How do we determine the need to adjust tappet apart from the 24000km rule? Eg funny sound, weird idling, horrible FC? THanks

ok the prob is iam use a 06 busa and 5th gear it can hit up to 300kph but when i am useing 6th gear it only can hit up to 280++ hear tat sum one told mi the power cut is on the 6th gear so u must have sumting to over right the ecu so iam tinking of getting a g-pack or the g pro u mention. tks for ur advice bro

yaya tats right ricky ar. i hit 300kph on 5th gear but 280kph on 5 th gear ...tats y i wan to get the g pack from him ya is a stock only mod on the pipe i took out the things like bee hav on the min pipe

the most accurate way to check if you need to do valve clearance is to open up the cam cover (aka top cover) and measure the individual tappet clearance using the feeler gauge.

 

Service limit (COLD):

0.1-0.2mm (IN)

0.2-0.3mm(EXH)

loss of power(due to compression loss) is the earliest sign but it can be attributed to a lot of other factors...

 

other symptoms you do not need to know cuz it'll simply result in the catastrophic failure of the engine when the valves meet the piston.

From my small research, I'd gathered that loss of power or loose valves is an unharmful symptom. This also will cause engine noise.

On the other hand, the silent killer is the tightening of valve which does not contribute to loss of power since there's no gaps but it will subject the valve to extreme wear or fracture. And a very quite engine....more quite after the valve break...muah ha ha...

So we must set our tappets according to the book.....wonder how much is the WMS?

gps here quite ex.. i got mine from ebay that last yr . paid fo a new GARMIN QUEST for USD 280 EXLCUDE UPS FEE. May be u can check it out from there .
