no prob..

the michelin 2ct was given quite a good review by the overseas busa riders.. claiming mileage of up to 7000miles... (very impressive for the tyre on such a heavy and high torque bike)

But how about rainy weather?Have you tried M3?

i travelled abt 7000km+. Mainly street riding. After tire change, neva went into msia.

Tired is still very usable, but those balding patterns may b visable soon.

FYI, Chris on Pilot Road already clocked 12K km and the tread is not even half worn....I'll take the pics when the sun is up later...

I changed to Michelin 2CT last Saturday. The bike feels very different, tents to be heavy on cornering. It was feeling much better with the Original Bridgestone tires. I found 2CT very easily slip on cornering even though the speed is slow. I will wait for another 200km if no improve then I'll go back to BT-56.

Any comments guys?

Hi Kaieiru,

I don't think the wax worn off yet. So far I've done abt 20-25km. That's the reason I said I will wait till 200Km. I'm presently puzzled with bike's reaction on the corners. From up-right position the bike "drops" to the cornering position. With the original tyres the bike's shifting from up-right to cornering was far smoother.

I went to Michelin website and they recommend Pilot Sport HPX for Hayabusa. I send them an e-mail last yesterday and waiting their reply.

sometimes some riders are just looking for this kind of "drop" feeling as it makes the bike more agile when entering a turn or making directional change...

this is opposed to the idea of stability where it actually takes slightly a bit more effort to settle the bike into the proper tilt angle..

i would guess that the tyre as compared to the bt56 is rounder thus making it more unstable.. (ie more agile)

juz find a hot day, some nice curvy roads and scrub of the wax... see if it makes any difference...

for me, i'm loving how it grips even at 42psi

I will do so my friend.

By the way what is the prossure on your tires?

I'm asking because there different suggestions:

BT56 = F-42PSI / B-42PSI (as per Suzuki's manual)

Pilot Sport 2CT = F-37PSI / B-39PSI (According to the shop installed them)

Pilot Sport HPX = F-36.26PSI / B-42PSIn (According to Michelin website)

Now I noticed that your tires pressure is at 42PSI. I'm damn confused.

Sorry for being pain in the neck but tyres is what 80% keep us alive.

most of the time i'm running 42psi on my tyres front and rear... that's when i know i wouldn't use more than 85% of the side wall threads..

this is more of a bid to conserve the centre thread of the tyres... but when i go track, i'll be using ard 35psi front and 38psi rear.

seeing what you've post, i kinda understand why they suggest 37/39 psi now... as i've mentioned earlier that at 42psi, under hard acceleration in lower gears it's possible to push the tyre beyond it's traction limit (probably because the centre compound is harder)...

I've too experienced the "drop" sensation upon changing to my pilotsport some months ago. Like wad kaieiru said, for some, the drop is perceived as an agile response on a new set of tires. I muz say I am one of those who kinda likes the "dropping" feeling on a new set of tires. :cheeky:

May i ask if by raising the tire pressure, will it thus induce the quicker wearing of the centre thread of the tire?

I'm currently using 41 psi front and rear.

If it is really the case, then I would have understood why the wear on the centre thread of my tire is beginning to be visable.

higher pressure will juz result in more concetrated wear on the center of the tyre as compared to the sides.. but the increased pressure should reduce the wear unless if tyre's external carcass overheats before the entire tyre gets evenly and fully heated..
