They are just a running series of number. Anyway, plates can be transferred so just take it as a "general guide" and not a definitive guide to year of registration.

Ah, I understand. Different from the UK.

Thank you for clarifying. :thumb:

Basic and rough guide:

FBA - Registration in 2006

FBB - Registration in 2007

FBC - Registration in 2008

FBD/E - Registration in 2009

There are also cases when you see a bike with a registration plate initial FBE but registered in 2002. This is probably due to the ex-owner retained the original plate no. and got a new plate no. for the current owner. (like what bro welly has mentioned)

To get the actual year of registration, you can check it at onemotoring.com.sg

well explained! :thumb: and there are cases a brand new bike with a vintage no. plate, for example plate no. start with 'A' which is more than 30 years of age. and many young people mistaken it for malaysian bikes!! if only LTA dun scrap the 'S' infront :D

True bro, vintage numbers used to be for example SAA, SAB at the front but lta takes the letter S out and bcame AA, AB plates.
