Hi, need advice..

I'm looking at buying a 2nd hand vespa, but I have no idea how to check the bike and verify the information provided on the ads, eg- just overhauled engine / engine in perfect condition. For those who bought a 2nd hand vespa, how did you perform your checks to ensure you get what you paid for?

Is it more advisable to buy from shop since there will be warranty as opposed to owner?

Thanks for any help given.

If premix means mix 2T with petrol everytime during pumping, then premix it is. I recently overhauled the engine and past the running in 500km period. But pick up to reach 60km still cause alot of vibration. is it normal?

You are supposed to do an oil change too. They dont advise you?

Hi Beecool87,

Gradual acceleration from 0 to 90km/h will prolong the lifespan of your engine.

On the note of running at 90km/h, shld be safe if yours is a premix. If not, try to slow down a little.

The right amount/portion of 2T is very important. Too much, you'll get incomplete combustion. Bike will feel draggy. Spark plug and carb turn fowl. Too little, you run danger of engine seize up if you run fast.

Just some personal experience... :D

advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dont need much to maintain ... a 1 litre bottle of 2T lasts a long long time ... each gear oil change is only 250ml ...
