Vespa - Security

 

 

Hello mates

 

Grabbing a old Vespa soon. What are the options on security against thief?

 

It's hard to have modern security alarm since ignition is only by kickstart, no place to hide the unit and battery only serves the ERP unit.

 

Chaining of the rim is also not possible due to rim/hub.

 

Appreciate your advice.

not much, unless you remove the seat or kickstart lever.

Tilt scoot to the right side for a few seconds first. Then try to kick.

 

 

 

Did that too...any other ideas??

Is there any biting point when you kick? Or is it slack?

 

Maybe a servicing is required if it's not.

If it's slack then maybe the kick starter lever needs replacement. Or the shaft needs changing.

Everytime I tilt the bike on the right before I kick start...start kicking till my legs tire..tried again n after several tries it can start..recently just change my kick start lever...cudnt be it..

Firstly did you turn your fuel gauge to OFF position when youn park your bike?? if not this might be due to fuel overflow. Always remember to OFF the fuel when parking then On it back when you start your bike. This might be the problem.

I know problem will be solved if I just sent ma scoot to the shop...but I just want to ask from u guys experience..at least it gives me a wider ideas...

hi guys, I was traveling on the expressway just now on my px150 when I heard a funny revving sound from my engine..

When I close throttle, bike was jerky, like riding horse!

When I open throttle, there was a lag before bike accelerates.

When I stopped my bike, the idling was abnormally high. Fiddling with the idle knob doesn't work. Problem persisted even after i turned off the engine and restarted it. No problem restarting. Just crazy high idling! Any idea why?

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.
