And your bike becomes a possible asset to you in case of emergency when you need $$. If you happen to have financial problems, you might even have to pay the bike shop to push the bike in if its under loan.

It is always better to pay full cash as you save on the interest that you have to pay if you took a loan.

What gave you the idea that it is better to take a loan if you are going to trade-in your bike? (not being hostile, just a question out of curiousity cuz i also dunno)

i think in ur case~ paying the full amount now would also require the installment interest... so u really do need to consider the cost~

try checking with the bike shop~

maybe got interest rebate if u clear the installments now? maybe lar. not confirm~

there's no harm asking right?

:cheeky:

if dont have rebate and u r pretty sure u wont spend yr $$ elsewhere, then pay off the installments bit by bit lor. use the spare cash (the amount of money u have to clear remaining installments) for other investment purposes or something

if u have the cash to spare, can consider paying a few months in advance~ and keep the rest in case of emergencies...

most people pay a few months in advance to lessen the hassle of goin to the shop every month~

perhaps u might wanna consider the full-payment upfront when u get ur next bike~ coz if u've gotten it under installment, u still have to pay interest if u wanna do full-payment after a few months (like what u're considering now)

bike shops/finance companies should not be charging the interest component/"penalty" (

Can't be help, if you don't check before you sign on the dotted line there's pretty much nothing that you can do about it.

So you might wanna check with you bike shop if you will get a rebate of the interest or they charging you a penalty.

If there is a rebate by all means pay up and enjoy your ride.

Else use the money on hand wisely to reduce your losses due to the interest.
