[Trip Report] Ride up to Pendas/Tangkak - 6th May 2010 (Honda CBR150 & Yamaha Spark)

Hey guys took a ride up with a fellow rider today (:

Had a great time exploring about and got abit lost and ended up in Pendas when we actually wanted go to Tanjung Piai :(

Ohh well, next time I need remember the roads, but of course Pendas was very much not regretful, as we had a nice scenery of the lushy forest and waters and boats around (: beautiful, check out the pictures we had captured there!

Also, we stopped there to have our breakfast in a nice 'kampong feeling' food place.

So after breakfast, we had no idea what to do, as it was only 9am, and we had actually planned to go to Tanjung Piai to spend the day there and relax, we didnt know malaysian roads that well either, so we just rode out from Pendas until we found the North-South Highway, which was at Gelang Patah. From there we planned to head up to this place my fellow spark rider had in mind, which was at Tangkak, so we rode up (:

Long long ride for him, I can imagine his pain, but he did it and wow man, for his first ever ride in malaysia at all!! Bravo ((:

We rode to this resort place which had a great waterfall, and we chilled and relaxed there till 3.15pm. From there we headed back home.

Total Distance Travelled: About 470km

Started ride at 7.30am

Reached back Tuas, Shell Petrol Station at Gelang Patah at 5.30pm

Things done on my bike (riding cbr150) before the ride:

Honestly, nothing, haha, called up for the ride last minute the night before (:

Things done on his bike (riding Spark):

- Changed brake pads

- Service Carborator

Do leave your comments and opinions (:

470km on a Spark and almost non stop? In America they call it 'iron butt' :D

I use that term not because the distance is very large for traditional touring, but because 2 hours on a kup = backside pain lmao.

Nice pics now organise some outings for me *cracks whip* :D

On the way back, pumped Shell97 before we enter highway..

i maintained at :

90km/hr for about 90%

100km/hr for about 5%

& 80km/hr for about 5% of the journey back to Singapore...

It was a Non-Stop trip back....

I didn't pump petrol until i was back in Singapore, which i eventually pump @ Jalan Bahar Shell for V-power..

Journey back took me about 3hrs..

My full tank lasted me 195km with about 100ml or so to spare..

Unfortunately, on the way back to Singapore 70km away, there was a heavy downpour..

i got no choice but to continue riding, + I switched on my hazard light to make my small bike visible to other road users..

Try riding in a heavy-downpour with visibility less than 25 Metre... :)

Learning Point :

Going up to Tangkak took abit longer as we made many pits along the way..

Coming back non-stop was possible with my 4Litre petrol tank(as mentioned on the above speed), provided u have the "ball" & know your engine conditon + your good riding style..
