Driving in a full-day bus lane

Just received a summon for riding in a full-day bus lane during prohibited hours at Orchard Rd btw Cairnhill Rd and Koek Rd.

 

The thing is that I am attending classes at Starhub Center, so I need to go onto the bus lane before turning left (small road between Cairnhill and Koek) to park at Centerpoint (free parking).

 

Is our traffic rule so strict?

The LTA form requires me to submit my particulars and admit that I am the rider of the offence.

 

I supposed I just fill in and attached an explanation letter.

is there a Dotted line instead of the full solid line? If you are at the dotted line then can argue. But usually hmmm.... they camp there and take photo so hmmm try to appeal ba. Hope it turns out well. I also scared that kinna gray area.

 

Your bike must have a sub-rider. thus the meaning for filling up the particulars is to send the summons to the correct person who commit the offence. Thus sent the particulars first then the actual letter comes you then apply for appeal.

Be careful of bus lanes with yellow & red continuous lines. There are paid photographers, white top with blue pants, stand by there just to take candid picture of you, and then send you a bill for service render of taking picture of you, without giving you the picture.

I got one with single yellow bus lane. Fine only no points. But for the Whole day red and yellow line i dunno. Definately Fine higher. Cos well someone got to pay for the paint rite...

u can always appeal that u were turning left thus had to keep to the left lane.

dont know why some roads the marking hard to keep up with, example bukit timah road towards bukit panjang, u're travelling centre lane, suddenly merge lane, u're in bus lane, then sudden solid lines, then become dotted lines up till traffic light, then suddenly no more bus lane.

The best part of these photographers are they normally wait at the end of the bus lane. To catch those who will claim that I just stepped into the bus lane only.

 

Our government will definitely need to look into these roads as most of the time the dotted lines are not long enough for cars to go over and queue to turn left.

they have already come to the resort of camping at LRT station bridge. beware.. i already seen many many times and best part is the road limit is 60kph.... Confirm kana.

Thats why try to slow down. Take a peep where the Lift going up to the LRT station is. You will find some of them sometimes. And its a 60pkh road i remind all here Hahaha... 60 leh... knn if you dunno is CONFIRM kana. Cos normally ppl drive or ride is 70kph and above.

I frequent that road. I think I might have the chance to receive such a fine again.

LRT? never heard of it.Where??Sengkang or Punngol?If it is the latter, I will be vulnerable to it.Pass by 3 bridge in a straight road. Last time at least can spot their bikes. Now they never let their vehicles to be seen.

gd job,bro! cheers! nxt time,do a lane change where broken lines are indicated and go slow.dat way,theres no way they can penalise u. the broken lines indicate that vehicles can drive/ride into the bus lanes to turn in junctions

Yup LRT. Seen in Punggol Riveria station. Hiding at the Life area. They park their bike at the Multi Storey Carpark just beside. So its kill 2 birds with one stone. Cos either he catches the speeding, then after that he walk ard and catch the illegal parking.

You signal left but you dun stay in the lane but on the line i think still ok. Cos even if the photo taken will show you on the line of the lane instead. But its dangerous la.
