Hey guys, juz installed a pair of showa suspension on my bike. A friend told me dat the showas are a bit too soft. There's no sign of oil leakages on the showas but when i sat on my bike with a pillion, it went down quite a lot. Juz to noe, are showas supposed to be super hard? And should i sent it for service or rebuild? Normally how much does the service costs? Btw the showas are second hand.....

yes, try adjusting the pre load,

this is to set the "sag"

sag refer to the suspension travel achieved when the motorcycle is laden with rider(s),

try turning it so the spring be more compressed.

The only way to check if the suspension is still in good condition is when u fix it on a bike and test it. See how hard or soft is it. You can also see if got leakage or not. Dont just see the feature is good or not. Looks can be deceiving....

Any suspension system will bounce as long as there is a spring. What differentiate a good and great suspension is it's dampening ability. Without dampening, it's like a pogo stick

when we travel along a bumpy road, we should feel nothing or slight UP and DOWN motion? Cause I'm been wondering did my shocks dampen those "bumps" effectively?

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Sorry can i ask how to check the suspension whether it is hard or soft and if i want to check whether there is leakage , i check for any oil leakages? Actually i just change my tyres and after i found that when i had a pillion behind, it get to sank lower den before, i'm worry that there is problem with my suspension or the bike shop mech accidently adjust the suspension.
