hey guys. is it all of sg roads are getting worse with the road works or is it only me?

Singapore highways in terms of condition is sublime. The standards are comparable to most parts of the Deutsch Autobahn. Minimal potholes and disconnected unlevelled roads. The confidence of driving in one without fear of being thrown off the tarmac is utterly excellent. That is, of course, if you were to compare to cities like Manila, Jakarta and KL. The maintenance may although lapse from time to time, but overall, we should be thankful that the roads are not ploughed like those from those that I mentioned.

msian bikers

They are fearless. But more or less predictable. Let them pass ahead to carve a deadly path through all sorts of jams, penetrating through the most tiny gaps in the traffic.

When the road is clear they cruise slowly letting you lead the way :D

When the road is jammed again I signal for the 'attack cubs' to go chiong and forge my big fat bike a clear path :3

it's even the pedestrians to0...

i've noticed many cross the roads without an interest in prolonging their very own life.

sms-ing..yakking on phone..reading appaers or just plain staring at the road's black tar instead of looking out for traffic..

then there are those who jaywalk blatantly and when u tap a friendly horn to sound, they give u the :"what's y0ur FUC-King problem????" kinda lo0k..

HaizZzz..

Last time I went to manila(2008), the express ways are under construction and have to be patient because the road will just suddenly merge, uneven "humps" because of 10+ wheelers using the road and the traffic jam is really bad  . Not even used to travel there now because somehow used to "Singapore's lifestyle" SG road, not bad at all :thumb:

Didn't anyone tell them in school that walking at a snail's pace across a zebra crossing is not only inconsiderate to motorists, but A Bad Idea?

SG roads are simply over-crowded, leading to jams, leading to impatient drivers/riders, leading to accidents, leading to more jams!!!

We can't compare to countries with large land scape, Sg is still a city state country.

Sg road not that bad as of now frankly, then it will get worst day by day.

From open space car park, to MSCP.

Congestion hours getting longer each day.

When you find the ERP, car parking fee, insurance fee unbearable.

Finding a parking space at your HDB area is darn difficult, every car put to free gear while parking, then is time to consider something else.

Talking about roads, anyone travel from Jurong up to KJE? There are plenty of portholes there. They have been mending it every now and then but it just keeps appearing. I wonder why. Please be cautious when traveling down that road.

Imagine the mega-tonnage this island is sustaining, metal cars, concrete skyscrapers, complex tunnelling works for MRT and sewage, newater, will Sg sink or not?

pot holes can be cause by road expansion, tarmar pushing against, overweight vehicles constant rampage, lighting strikes, trees roots underneath, thats beyond LTA's control, have to mend now and then.

those idiots behind the steernig wheels also getting from bad to worst..

Idiotically aggressive I agree, but very predictable.

The most common must be the 'bike at the end of a filter lane queue and purposely cut in front of the bike' move.

It would be interesting to have a discussion on biker reactions to such idiocity.

it's not getting from bad to worse, it's getting from worst to ridiculous.

particularly roads along the circle line and as some have suggested, along routes where heavy vehicles frequent.

pot holes, uneven surfaces, sandy, oily, muddy, flood, metal roads, "black ice", rubbish, winding roads, splitting roads (mrt pillar in the middle)...

OF COURSE, the logical solution is to increase road tax. make sense wat.

BTW Brunei the only country whose currency is the same value as us, has fantastic roads, paved smooth and nice, you can tell the difference between Sarawak and Brunei when you cross the border between, from kampong road to slick race track. And yet Brunei got not ERP and road works nonsense, they got oil to suck. Sg got 6.5million suckers to suck.

Actually, the Bruneian Dollar is not of equivalent value to the Singapore dollar. There is however, an agreement of inter-exchangeability which means that the B$ and SGD can be used directly in either countries. For all intents and purposes, 1 B$ is considered 1 SGD in Singapore and Brunei, but the currencies are not equivalent in value outside of these two countries.
