Wah....... I just got caught by NEA at checkpoint because of excessive smoke but the thing is i just passed my inspection about 3 weeks ago.

Is there any way i can appeal ?? I never do any modifications to my bike , just ride like normal. Also when can i appeal, because i havent receive the summon yet , just the letter where u need to sign.

I would like to appeal ASAP if possible. Hope i have a good chance because i just went for inspection and passed.

Hey bro, u need to get less smoke 2T n do adjustment at the 2T cable lower to prevent accessive smoke la.......Hope this can help prevent future fines.......:sian::cheers:

Bro,lower 2t means higher risk of piston jam, unless put 2t inside tank...

If cant appeal, then LLPL lor,pay and forget and learn from mistake....:(

The authorities should know that on some 2 strokes it is inevitable that some smoke will be generated especially just after starting the engine.

On one of my Y125Zs I even overhead the inspection centre technicians giving OJT using my bike; they openly said something like "Y125Z got stock racing exhaust so some smoke is okay, don't worry about it". Sure enough I can't get rid of the smoke on starting engine no matter what I did, until it's warmed up.

Reducing 2T flow... do at own risk, because on high temperature high speed riding uphill on the highways in the hot sun, piston jam and $500 repair bill.

There are zillions of other riders on RXZs and they should not discriminate against 2 stroke riders. Many of these rely on RXZ performance and reliability to make a living. There are better ways to encourage riders to buy less-polluting 4 strokes, if that's their point.

just out of curiosity.. why did you sign anything in the first place?? :faint:

its just like a confession letter (you know what i mean?) :dot:

note to all.. if you are not in the wrong don't sign anything.

if yr siggy is on it then kwai kwai pay the fine.

if not, wait for letter then appeal.

take me to georgia

Long long time ago I asked the mechs to reduce the smoke but all they were able to do was reduce 2T flow. I also spent a bit more on better 2T; the Esso ones seem to produce less smoke than Shell.

I got summoned thrice the past year and still pass inspection on the first try.

Did you get caught soon after you started moving off? Cause like what some guys stated earlier are notoriously smokey soon after starting. If that's the case then take note of the time you were caught on video and avoid using that particular road during those hours. Chances are NEA inspectors are going to wait there again in two months time rubbing their hands in glee waiting for 2-strokers to pay for thier bonuses.
