Yes i'm running opensource tune, just trying to decide if i should do anything else to the car.

i started off not sure of wat to do till my tuner told me to take a step at a time, give a tot of wat i really wan of this ride? wat r my expection & how far m i prepare to go?

so after spend couple pf weeks sourcing for info, advice, discussing with my finance minister & some "soul" seaching... then i manage to come to a firm term with my heart & pocket

bro, so take ur time, think through & listen to ur heart, at the end of the day u must be happy with ur ride & enjoy the whole process

More details on the custom intercooler please? Considering upgrading from my stock one.

manage to get hold of a measuring tape today. measured my "custom" tmic & friend's HyperFlow tmic. measurement on the core onli, excluding the mount

custom tmic - 51 x 25 x 10

surface area = 1275cm & volume = 12750cc

HyperFlow - 49.5 x 19.5 x 11.5

surface area = 965.25cm & volume = 11100cc

Yeah this car been in this current spec for over a year, not really a priority for me to do up because it's just a weekend toy. Just sometimes i get abit itchy backside and start thinking about upping the power abit more.

ok...it all start in early 2007 when COE was cheap cheap so wife & me set out searching to upgrade our car. she was looking at 206cc & CRV while i was hoping for comfort ride like Civic, Camary, Accord or even C200. TC (Subaru) was never in our list then. 1 fine day we decided to drop-by Leng kee to check out.

due to full hse in all show room we could onli find parking in MI, so LL must entertain their sales rep, that's how it all started... ok cut long story short. we test drove the Auto WRX & we were both some how fell in love with its handling & power. no other car we tested since come close to wat the WRX. from that fadefull day, driving has never been the same

Speed is something tht both wife & me enjoy. Travelling high speed on my bike up in NSH was a regular activity for both of us. since we got our WRX we decided for the 1st time to drive up north, our previous cars was too slow for us to wan to drive onto NSH :sian:

after driving for ~1 year i start to crave for more power & speed. without the pick-up & cruising speed of a >1000cc Sport Touring bike, driving on NSH wasn't as fun. so i when in search of making my drive more fun. since then i have see through my car's improvement & transform into wat it is now. enjoy the process & every single ride in it :thumb: :lovestruck:

added a WR engine damper on Monday. now engine isn't "rocking" like it used to be.

Enough of the engine performance stuff. for now, i will concentrate on the handling.

JB bro, u 1 time lap all in 1 reply, c alredy :giddy: allow me to reply ur post in points pls

- the Porche thingy is just joking lah. for wat i know they are really Brembo 6pot, ex but still affortable & yes, Brembo are usually kinda heavy.

- did some checks with friends & workshop & all of said 'slotted drilled' do run a higher chance of cracking thus dicided to play safe though i also think it looks really cool :shades: further more i was trying to keep as low profile as possible :cheeky:

- these rims r bought by my wife without much consideration for future upgrading. it is 17" Rays CE28. given a chance i would have gotten atleast 18". b'cos of this rotor size max onli 330mm. i would really love to put on a set of 355mm front & 330mm rear for this ride :sian: btw this new Rotora 6 pot RF601 isn't any smaller then the Porche/Brembo's

- even if it is a Fait Bravo 1.4 turbo, it also has great potential of hitting >200bhp. btw, upgrading brake system r good safety investment :thumb:

- yap it is 362bhp, not 362whp. not sure abt century sprint but rolling start (>3000rpm) is truelly exhilarating. no less exciting then superbikes :o

- not sure abt TT. it was given by agent when i bought it from MI. if u wan, i can ask workshop on ur behalf.

Ha, just hope the bbks work fine regardless of weight, your rex story sure seems interesting and funny, good that you can maintain it for so long and keeping it good looking. Been hearing about Rex going up north quite nice, maybe can consider a Rex as a ***** car to drive around rather than europe makes because of cost wise ;] haha nvm, I already asked about TT today and some other brakes like AP from a friend..

as the brake pads sets in, the better the feel now. am loving these 6 pots more as the time goes. many times stronger than stock's 4 pots 2 pots :thumb:

heard many good FRs for AP & they r expensive metal! a set of 6 pots cost as much as my whole set of 6 pots 4 pots :sian: & mind u, my ain't Taiwan or Thailand bbks but direct imports from USA. just a little more ex than Taiwan's but very much cheaper than the European's!!

received my Mishimoto 10 rows oil cooler b4 lunch. later should receive my Perrin light weight pulley, oil catch tank & 22mm sway bar kit (front & rear sway bar, bushing & stout mount).

next step is to get them install, but need to plan leave from work as to install all the above, workshop mech says needs ~6-7hrs
