I am contemplating stage 1. A friend told me he can charge me at a very special rate to upspec my power to 230PS and 300Nm at wheel for my little 1.4L. But many things sits unanswered. I will have to replace my brakes to a BBK and my ARB most likely will have to be replaced. And I will only be able to pump a minimum of RON97 petrol and so on.... If only I print $$$ for a living.

Honestly speaking, my current condition suffices on the track in PG but inadequate in Sepang. And the running costs of the engine spares might be appalling in time to come.

Bro, at least u consider the running cost and BBK which most bro oversees. Most just care about the power upgrade only lol. If u looking to have enuff oomp at Sepang, need to increase budget by a lot lol.

Anyway, to TS, 362bhp is already alot of horses and you should be in the low 5 for 0-100?

Cheers

It's German. I checked my vehicles suspensions. It will be ok if my power remains below 210PS and torque below 300Nm since many components share with the GTI. But Oettinger is expensive and they tune to RON98 which is out of the question for Malaysia's usage. The stock condition really suffices for my usage. With good tyres and the SACHS advantage dampers, it was more than enough even in the very heavy rain on the track. I'd like to concentrate more on my skills.

Ok i know wats ur ride now. got both supercharger & turbo inside :thumb:

truely, for local usage, the stock vech is more than enough/competent. all u need are handling upgrades & the rest is on the driver.

as for me i don't track. for yrs (since 1996) i use to travel up NSH on bikes exceeding more then double the legel speed limit :p then from 2007 i start travelling up north occasionally in my car, thus 'normal & saint' cars r totally no fun & kills all reason for any trip.

as for petrol wise, i don't have issuse with Mysia's or Thailand's petrol b'cos my car has 2 setting, with the help of ecu re-mapping & a boost controller. anytime i pump

I'd very much want to get a car with all the fun factor like a used lotus Exige. BMW 130i is way out of budget. Caterhams don't exist in Singapore. STI are not that insurance friendly here plus all the negative impression created and I have problems getting special discounts for Asian car parts. On top of that I need to cater to the others who might drive my car without the proficiency of handling a fully manual car. So after extensive consideration, the German little hatch makes more sense. I bought it 2 years ago and not a single tinge of regret. Still working perfectly fine if not for a little minor periodic maintenance. Life is not only about cars. My family precedes a heap of depreciating steel. Brought it to the track and it works well. I am still couple of seconds short of my ideal timing but it serves my purposes very well. I mod for functionality. Not for aesthetics. Everything and every cent I inject must reap results. Otherwise, I will forget about it. I won't spend a single cent on aesthetics since it dulls as time passes by. But it's the true hardware that constantly allows me to grin ear to ear. It is like getting a pretty girl who cannot function as a gf and a plain jane who will honour all your needs as a gf for long term. After sometime, we get tired of the pretty girl and the feeling of having novelty fades when it paves for reality. Just my thought.

someone selling my dream brakes!!! see shiok no money to buy

http://www.tunersgroup.com/images/large/large734.jpg

ehh its not very Ex imho, big and heavy but I heard performance ain't that great unless you're talking about the ceramic edition. I could have gotten the front sets but I thought not worth it.

bro, pic of my ride with Rotora 6pot & 4pot

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=696&pictureid=3972

Rotora is good, I can vouch for em. Why didn't you get the rotors which are slotted & cross drilled? They look and work wicked!

:D

sorry bro, my bad. ok i have just paste it on.

here is another pic, a close up one. this is by far the biggest caliper i ever had & the biggest 6pot i have ever seen :lovestruck:

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=696&pictureid=3973

It indeed is huge but Porsche and some other brake kits are huge as well. Rotora's calipers are in the higher percentile of the sized BBKs and I like your rims Ce28 or ce28N?

I am contemplating stage 1. A friend told me he can charge me at a very special rate to upspec my power to 230PS and 300Nm at wheel for my little 1.4L. But many things sits unanswered. Honestly speaking, my current condition suffices on the track in PG but inadequate in Sepang. And the running costs of the engine spares might be appalling in time to come.

I think you've to try diff tuners and compare, I've tried stage 1 but feel not much diff in the power delivery. Its like telling me it has V-Tec or something. Maybe just noise to me but I'm not moving.

BBKs are good regardless if you up spec or not IMHO.

Cheers

safety is much important than power, good that people OTR have paid attention to it as well.

362 could be at crank and probably he'll be in low 6 after power delivery from wheel? Just a guess ;]

Bro, wat;s ur ride? is it the Fait Bravo? wat goal u have set for ur ride? i can help ur ask then u can make comparison on the diff set up ideas & $$ involve. btw if u wan BBK, there r many ppl de-mob selling pretty cheap.

How fast can a Fiat go? lol he won't need help for BBK, he has all the help he has but only for one..

the persuasion to change and the finance factor :p

It's German. I checked my vehicles suspensions. It will be ok if my power remains below 210PS and torque below 300Nm since many components share with the GTI. With good tyres and the SACHS advantage dampers, it was more than enough even in the very heavy rain on the track. I'd like to concentrate more on my skills.

Oettinger is not bad ;] MS did well with a stock car IMHO. I was with him at the location and also with him in the vehicle.

He makes wise decisions I'd say. I think S3 is good next in the line up ;]

JB bro, u 1 time lap all in 1 reply, c alredy :giddy: allow me to reply ur post in points pls

- the Porche thingy is just joking lah. for wat i know they are really Brembo 6pot, ex but still affortable & yes, Brembo are usually kinda heavy.

- did some checks with friends & workshop & all of said 'slotted drilled' do run a higher chance of cracking thus dicided to play safe though i also think it looks really cool :shades: further more i was trying to keep as low profile as possible :cheeky:

- these rims r bought by my wife without much consideration for future upgrading. it is 17" Rays CE28. given a chance i would have gotten atleast 18". b'cos of this rotor size max onli 330mm. i would really love to put on a set of 355mm front & 330mm rear for this ride :sian: btw this new Rotora 6 pot RF601 isn't any smaller then the Porche/Brembo's

- even if it is a Fait Bravo 1.4 turbo, it also has great potential of hitting >200bhp. btw, upgrading brake system r good safety investment :thumb:

- yap it is 362bhp, not 362whp. not sure abt century sprint but rolling start (~3000rpm) is truelly exhilarating. no less exciting then superbikes :o

- not sure abt TT. it was given by agent when i bought it from MI. if u wan, i can ask workshop on ur behalf.

More details on the custom intercooler please? Considering upgrading from my stock one.

myxilplix bro, which model ur ride?

- i got this custom tmic from Dynotech for $1K w/installation

- size wise it is same L x W as the STI tmic but thicker. it is slightly >4"

- if u have the $$ ($1.7K~$1.9K) u should go for the HyperFlow. designer kinda look & it is 5" thick! i tried looking, asking & waiting for a 2nd hand but waited too long so give up then when for this custom tmic. alternately if u or have friend going to Aussie u can pick up 1 for
