just got my FF, waiting for mine pillon's FF to arrive too. and i would say it feels alot safer wearing a FF knowing that if anything bad happens, my chin is covered.. always wearing a jeans and shoes to ride. thing about getting a good FF, you dont feel safe leaving it behind and thus have to carry around..

anyone know of any good hardcore chain to recommend to secure my FF on my bike?

have to agree with u there, it can be kinda troublesome. I have to carry mine around everywhere like a baby because it doesnt fit under my seat and i dont have a topbox. I've thought about locking it to my bike with a chain but im worried that someone might steal my visor or pour some icky stuff in my helmet. Ewww..

i have no experience with chains but in bike magazines i always see advertisements for Oxford brand of chains. http://www.oxprod.com/index.php?pg=3&action=dept&id=18&pid=0&p=

I believe u can get oxford products from Motoworld.

Why can't just carry the full face helmet with you?

If you are a biker.. there is nothing wrong to be seen with a full face helmet in your hands.

I always carry my helmet with me.. coz its just too expensive to leave it out of my sight.

Well for me it is very inconvinent to carry it around for lectures and tutorials in school where it is always very crowded and spaces are cramp, no space to put my bag and sit comfortable let alone my ff. Then go for lunch in a heavily packed canteen makes it worst. Table of 4 seats, four friends then no space to put helmet le, put on floor dirty... I dont want to carry it around is because of the enviroment i am in. Difficult man.

i feel that locking it on my bike in a school campus is relatively safe from theft, put it in a helmet bag to prevent and mischief of spitting or etc.

I know that my ff is expensive and i would nv want to leave it alone. If it isnt in a school campus i would never dare to think about locking it on the bike.

People have their reasons for doing somethings, sometimes stupid, sometimes for a logical reason.

And the reason i wanted to lock up my helmet is explained above. Yes there is nothing wrong to be seen with a ff, its just the inconvinence it brings me in school thats all.

I think this is rather off topic, maybe i would start another thread to ask for chain lock suggestions instead sorry.

Or just get a bag to make carrying your helmet a little more convenient? There's an SBF official one or you can buy from Motoworld (http://motoworld.com.sg/detail.php?pid=1245).

On the ATGATT topic, I go FF, mesh armoured jacket, armoured gloves, armoured jeans and boots. A little OTT some may think, but I rather overdo it slightly than come up short on a bad day. I've recently upgraded my gloves and boots because I simply cannot afford to hurt my hands (need it for work or other recreational activities) and cannot afford to break my ankles (need it to walk around).

switftee, go buy gloves la from the money you saved after bargaining on your Shoei ;) Or wait for me to list my near-new Komine gloves and even newer Alpinestars SP8. :)

lol! true mah... if arctic native creatures like polar bears and penguins can survive in our crazy tropical climate...

we humans born and grew up in tropical climate got reasons to complain about it being very hot while wearing proper riding gear?

it was warm and uncomfortable when i just started wearing balaclava, ff, armoured jacket and gloves, but with time, i got used to it... :thumb:

Haha recreational activities like what?

;) Heh heh. I was wondering if anyone was going to pick up on that! But on a more serious note, almost all recreational activities will need me to have my palms intact. Elbow sore, arm sore is another matter. Just typing now I've realised I have my palm on my keyboard - which I cannot do if my palms were left grated on the road somewhere! Same with the mouse. Oops. Just realised this is more a helmet topic than general gear talk - sorry for being slightly off topic.

I was at regina yesterday, saw the salesman selling ff to a indonesian and he demo that ff A the shell can be compressed, FF B the shell cannot compress the FF B is nolan. And FF A is some carbon brand or sth.

So can compress or cannot better? He applied pressure to the neck part of the shell, the opening.

FF got the hole opening for your head to go in right? that part u try pressing inwards see if the helmet wall will like bend in anot. so bend in means good or not good? i assume that if it is strong, it shouldnt be able to bend in right?

All helmets are supposed to absorb the shocks on your heads' behalf should an impact occurs. Hence to effectively dissipate the forces, the helmet will need to "Disintegrate". If you ever dropped a good helmet, you'll notice pieces of plastic parts flying off or the helmet falling apart. That's an indication that the helmet has done its job and it is not advisable to wear the helmet again as it will not be as effective the next time.

Contrary "Hard" helmets or bulletproof helmets will just transfer the impact energy to your head instead of absorbing it. So you walk out of it with your head/face intact, but with your brains turning jello inside you could well be the best looking 5 year old. No offense to the less abled ppl.
