I have a "screw" but i have never used it for anything else before besides peeing. LOL!

Anyway, if change carb ah for ybr, will it make a difference? Or just wash can already? Very funny leh my bike. When i kickstart, wah, engine super strong. 7 seconds later, then engine become weaker, then weaker then die. Must open throttle a bit. How ah?

Nothing wrong. Engine will be fine once warmed up. Of course EFI engines don't do this since they can monitor and self regulate for startup conditions, and carbs don't.

Be thankful you don't have to reach down below and adjust idle screw at every traffic light like I love to do, and adjust mixture settings for full, half and 1/4 fuel, hot or cold weather. You kinda need a pilots' license for that :D

Reach down below? Pilots licence? Haha kitten. Anyway, you have any idea what caused this? Is my mixture too lean? My fuel consumption has been increasing also. Fuel efficiency has gone down by a few km. Time to change carb?

What I'm thinking is when you kick the start lever a certain amount of momentum is imparted into the heavy flywheel in the crankcase. As the start condition is too lean to self-sustain the engine at that RPM, it gradually loses momentum to friction. Note that at this point the engine oil is cold as well and will not flow as easily and quickily as it does at operating temperature (100 deg C).

To overcome this carbs have a choke circuit to temporarily enrich the starting mixture. Or you can just rev gently until the engine idles at your desired speed.

As for reaching down between your legs to change settings bikes like Phantom have a giant sized idle knob, a good design feature seeing how simple carburetted systems are so sensitive to atmospheric conditions they could be used to predict the weather :D

This is hopefully a more thoughtful and practical solution to you than telling you to go to the shop and start changing lots of parts randomly. If the bike starts and runs I'm happy. :D

Once the engine is warmed up the carburettor is doing its normal carburetion thing (yes that is a word - mixing fuel with air) and the system is more or less naturally stable. That's why all carb tuning needs to be done when the engine is warm, not on a cold morning.

I've tuned in cold mornings with a relatively cold engine and what I got that week was a hyper-rich engine. Not fun.

Ps. Only 4 strokes have flywheels. 2 strokes will just refuse to start if it's not happy with you.

I like that knob design. For my bike, i always carry a screwdriver in my box, just in case.

He just joking. Don't until so serious. For me, i know how to remove and put back carb. But i dunnow how to do settings and i dont dare. And i never do before.

learn it bro!

very simple..

1. air screw.. just turn use screwdriver

2. changing the main jet/pilot jet/air jet/lancau jet, just turn it anti-clockwise to remove/clockwise to put in

3. changing the needle height/needle itself.. just take out the needle from the slide and put back.

the most that can happen is a siezed cylinder.. haha

LOL @ siezed cylinder. It would ruin the possibility of a YBR125SM in Singapore.

I don't think it will turn out that bad - it's quite easy for me to detect lean/rich conditions just by the feel and sound of the thing. Wrong jettings just feel... wrong.

When I did my airbox "improvements" I had to turn the mixture screw 4 times in (from stock settings) to get it to 'slight rich' again. Scary, but the engine survived okay. These little aircooled motors are durable.
