hehe,it was a small test by myself to see if the bar ends helps to lessen vibrations at the footrest area. well so far i can say it works for me. the engine has vibration after past 7k rpm, the bar ends at the footrest attenuate the vibrations and make it less obvious.

had not been riding due to festive seasons, only did short warm up and few quick burst of throttle, this bike is really fun :cheeky:

yes, there's a stud screwed in at the stock pegs, however the barends have 7mm holes while the pegs have 8mm hole, drilling required on the braends, use M8 bolt to tighten in. i was impress on how these little things can work wonders..

i think so though i nv look close to the 919 before, anyway as long ur foot pegs has a stud screwed in type then can use lo..

any barends can be use, i'm using gilera runner type and of coz the heavier the better. :cheeky:

woooo OK I shall take a look in just a while.

Has you ever toured with ur CB250?

250 styling not much of a difference compare to 919?

haha, haven done touring with CB250 yet, longest i've travelled is from cck to tampines, need good shoes and glove cos the vibrations on handlebar and footrest can be torturing, however i haven try riding fast with the barends on the footrest.

styling wise i think both are similar and both use same tyres. the differences will be that 919 is heavier n more powerful with twin exhaust while 250 is more of a baby hornet..

Well, Touch n Go,

I do agree with the feeling of taking corners... the bikes really takes corner pretty well ... as a street bike.. really ' smooth and firm'. Quite similar to a fairing bike...

Have you tried it's E-Braking... it's even more IMPRESSIVE..!!!

Just to share this... I have recently finds that my H250 had power lacking issue perhaps due to carburator clogging and fuel cable clogging/choking as well.. and... i have found a cure...! heehee.

I have bought a bottle of STP Fuel injector cleaner... and it solve all the problems... no need to send the bike to the workshop for cleaning up the carburator etc... which could cost about S$80-S$100.

With the Fuel Injector Cleaner... which cost less that S$8. Isn't it amazing...! You should give it a try...!

Immediately after only 1/3 of the bottle poured into the fuel tank, i felt the difference... and after using the first bottle, I am total 'STUNT' and at the same time 'VERY VERY IMPRESSED' with the...

POWER, ... Acceleration had suddenly changed and kicks in the moment you turn on the throttle...

The bike feels LIGHTER ... don't really understand how to explain this but, it just gives an even greater feeling of wanting to ride the bike .. as if it was just a brand new bike from the showroom... hahahaha..:cheeky:

The bike sound QUIETER... the sound of the exhaust and the engine sounds very smooth and much more quiet than usual ... easy to start the engine and the idling is very stable and consistant...:thumb:

The bike's FUEL CONSUMPTION... had improved tremendously... clocking at about 167km and the fuel indicator only dropped 1/4tank...:shy: HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE...???? Ehrrr... i don't really have a clue.. heehee.

I may be considering using this FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER for my future riding experience...

That's what i am sharing for today!.. CHEERS!

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR... AND BLESSINGS TO ALL RIDERS AND FAMILIES!

Rgds,

Any senior can advise me to where I overhaul my hornet250? Most importantly I need to change my water pump. Haiz

can check with bikeworkz. i think bro nuad had done overhaul there before..

Posted

oh yea, i overhauled it there, lol apparently a hornet 6 or 9 was brought in for overhaul at the same period. haha so they have experience with hornet's, and possibly because of my bike, ALOT of experience with the 250. so much wear and tear :'(

haha i got scammed, i bought my bike cheap at 2.3 but it had a crankshaft bearing failure cos the previous owner neglected oil changes.

i had to overhaul pistons crankshaft, piston rings and conrods, the parts and repair came to about 1.2k or so.

i got lucky and managed to source for a set of parts from a second hand bike in new zealand, which had only 30k mileage.

cos for a brand new crankshaft (only) would be 1.2k w/o workmanship.

so far stuff i have done for the bike are.

top valve service.

fuel cog. (worn out) about 100 bucks

tyres

chain

motovation heavy bar ends

grounding

ows 3 in 1

new spray work. (pity cos my bike still had the original blue, but some ******* pushed my bike.)

hel brake hose

super 4 spec 3 brake pump

front brake disc (from the same second hand bike)

wheel+steering cone bearings.

clutch plates

hmm not much wear and tear. the only wear and tear stuff from the abv are the disc brakes and fuel cog. but the problems that came with the bike (because of neglect) made it a bomb to have extensive and full overhaul.

and keep in mind my bike is 9 years old. so much more wear and tear, but its running nicely and smoothly now. in the end spent about 5.5k to get it to good condition. so i kenna chop chilli chop

water pump.. i not sure. nvr encountered that problem.

bro kuro tenshi, why overhaul? the price depends on what particular parts to change, it will be expensive , and MORE IMPORTANTLY, hard to find if major parts such as the ones that i encountered happens to be the problem

not common to need to overhaul for most honda's the engine will happily run for 20 years if you change your oil properly. do you have any issues? heavy knocking sound from engine? maybe we can help diagnose if there is really a major problem.
