Just bought coolant from spc.. Now the thing is how to take out the tank to top up?

i open the seat and there's a coolant tank there, i top up from there but i juz pour the whole bottle in. when the bike is hot, some coolant may flow out from the overflow tube locate below the leg rest..

Posted

another thing, u mite wan to check ur coolant... a coolant is juz an anti-freeze and preventing the internals from rusting and an additive to change abit of the water properties.. the water compound is the one which cools it.. tat is y i prefer maxima coolaide than engine ice..

my fren told me that best avoid coolant with anti freeze properties, as it take a longer time to reach optimal operating temperature.

LOL, I wonder that too how come they design the coolant refill cap under the tank?! I need to verify the service manual again on how to lift up the tank. Guess "Touch N Go" gave the easier solution, top up through the overflow reservoir.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Lol.. I don't trust the overflow tank under the seat.. That time my coolant totally dry due to the broken hose.. The overflow tank still full of water..

for the 919, open the seat, loosen the size the bolt and nut by the side (not the 2 top allen key bolt).. pull the tank backwards n lift it up from the front.. sth like sportbike style... but u will need a rod to hold the tank up or another fren to help u lift n hold it there... for the 250 im nt sure though..

yeah true u shld avoid anti free properties coolant cuz singapore will NEVER snow.. tats wat the anti freeze properties is for.. so tat in countries with snow, the coolant wont freeze...

anyway u mite wan to check your radiator cap if the rubber is worn out.. if its worn, its best to replace... a worn rubber in the radiator cap mite cuz coolant to go missing...

Hmmm did u see similar design as rykros mention? It might work in the same way as 919. I always top up the coolant by the overflow tank, if possible can re-channel the hose so that radiator cap is accessible?

yes, at times its just such simple item which cause a big problem for us. :cheeky:

Hmm.. No idea.. Will get a more personalize mech to solve the problem for me.. End of day is still money issue.. Anyone thinking might it be the issue of coolant pump faulty due to old age? Anyway, now squating down in front of my hornet and discovered that the a small bit of the radiator fin is dented beyond repair as it's all flat.. Think maybe kena big stone or something..

I just did some math.. Swapping to a 17inch front rim will cause the hornet to forward dive even more by few mm..

Went online shopping.. Ermax has a under tail tidy and hugger meant for the 98 model hornet 600.. Seems compatible with the 250.. Inclusive shipping will cost nearly 600 sin.. Ex man.. Some times I wonder if it's worth the $.. Anywhere in sg can fabricate ah?

u sure abt tat ? the original front rim is 16in so swappin in a bigger rim like 17in shld raise the front instead of lowering it..

oh the 250 has a front 16" rims?? oh changing to 17" rims require to change the hubs?? if can then down fork half an inch it will be superb... but where is the weight distribution or COG (centre of gravity) ?? if its in the centre originally, it wun affect much of your handling.. but if the COG is abit forward towards the engine, u mite have difficulty in handling though... but then again, u'll never noe till u try it... theories are good, but practical is the best..

recently had been riding my H250 without baffle, realise that its smoother on 90-100km/h with lesser humming. as for the topping up of coolant on the reserve tank, my bike temp seems to be ok after some coolant overflow out from the reserve tank, no overheat.

HI all,

Finally, have returned from my business trip and got my bike serviced..:cheeky:

Had changed new air filter, oil filter, engine oil, etc..

Both tyres are pretty new, only few weeks old... paid almost S$400 for it.

Chains are just few weeks old... and made in Japan.

Starter Plugs are new as well..

oh yes, i have also change a new clutch cable.

Well,.. my LOVELY H250 is about 5years old (i think).. hahahaha... FX Plate.

Super good paint work.. like showroom condition(9/10)... i am selling it as i am going to upgrade to a 400cc... probably a Superfour... not sure yet... hahahah

So, i am looking for Cash BUYERS... while searching for my bike.

SMS me your best price.. NO CALLS PLEASE!.... I don't really want to bargain much, so, only provide the price that you think is the right price that u would pay for it. Becos' it's a good bike, i am looking for a good price before selling to the open market. Thanks.

So start sending your price to secure the deal to : 9455-6854. NO DEALERS PLS...!

Viewing is only available thru' appointment(SMS) as i have a quite busy work schedule, and.. i am sorry that no test riding on my bike is allowed.

If i cant' find the right owner for my H250, i would probably trade in for my new bike after CNY.:cheers:
