I think should be able to find la..ebay is a good source..becoz my stock pump spoilt..went to a shop in bukit merah and they gave me phantom pump which cost $95..like i mentioned previously..abit overkill..everytime i hard braking..got burning smell coming from the front..i got this for $130 and installed myself.

Hi Kuro,

Wow.. the new pump really looks good ..

Btw, will LTA or Insurance valid the modifications...? With modifications on the existing design of the braking system (pump for instance)... will Insurance claims be an issue if there is a need for claims...(road accidents for example).

How about during LTA inspection,... i have seen manybikes on the road... especially Super4... many diffierent modifications had been done on the braking system.... the braking disc.. the additional.... grounding of the bikes and changing of the speedometers.... etc... etc... ARE THESE LEGAL???

hahhaa.... perhaps... still the same old rule..... DO WHATEVER U WANT... BUT, DON'T GET CAUGHT... IS THAT IT? heehee.

i think if u just dont do any illegal mods to the engine and exhaust can already.. what to do when the OEM ones has no more stock? gotta find the next best thing than compromising my own safety? I saw a bajaj pulsar with brembo rcs 16 brake pump.. dont u think that is overkilling even more than mine?

vibrates as in?? i know the pillion's foot starts to go numb at ard 120.. feedbacks from my pillion though..

top speed?? ever tried 160.. feel like superman already.. damn scary.. c'mon.. it's a naked bike.. how fast u wanna go?

maintenance? hmm.. need to know the right place to source for the right parts.. not as readily available in the shop as S4.. 1 less bottle of EO but still 4 spark plugs.. front brake pads less by 1 set as it's only single disc.

pro and con.. u decide.. we can only say so much.. i'm loving my hornet.. :cheeky:

ok thks! as long can go 100 easily im happy enuff... coz im currently riding a phantom and will vibrate alot at 100 on my meter and top speed only 130 on my meter which is 20% more than actual speed... is there a reserve for hornet? if so how many l is it?

reserve tank?? no idea.. full tank is 15.5Litres.. i think norm is 13L and reserve is 2.5L ba..

Wa crap.. Earlier when I'm riding to work my front brake jammed up.. Reason: I over filled the reservoir.. Brake fluid expanded and has nowhere to go thus cramp up the brake disc.. I could swear my brake disc was reddish brown in collie when I stopped..

ebay got one from china... wave shape brake disc too. So far they the only seller whom confirm that the disc works on the vehicle. Not bad you know how the bleed the brake fluid too :thumb:

Is the pump brand new?

I happen to learn frm the shop that my front brake pressure distribution wasn't even, unless I change the brake line layout.

Those you mentioned either its cosmetic or additional electronic gadget which still OK. Illegal modification usually are pipe or big bore engine (*not common on big bike)...

ok thks for the info :thumb: hornet250 will be in my consideration list for a 2a bike

Oh man that was dangerous... which mean the piston been push against the disc throughout ur ride? Guess you need to check the limit of the disc and brake pad.

well... i think i may be ordering the front disc in soon.. not gonna change the front wheel already.. cut cost..

turns out to be one to the piston not working and causing the brake to jam.. crap.. alot money wasted.. lol.. alot of slugs inside the brake caliper.

Hi there Kuro,

It never occur to me that the Brake Fluid will 'expand'.

Perhaps... it's the way that the topping up of the brake fluid that is inappropriate.... " trapped bubbles" while filling up or draining.

Usually, we don't really need to "fill up" the brake fluid unless it is really below the lower line indicator (if u know what i mean)

I have the same experienced last time while riding my HONDA STEED.

During the event, you should have a 'feel' if the brake is jamming up the disc even before riding it.... (what happened to me is that after changing the fluid, i have difficulty in 'pushing' the bike after 'pumping' the brake lever....!

Anyway, glad to know u are okay... it's better be safe to change it than to save the few hundreds...

Cheers and hope u have ur disc changed and problem solved ASAP!

Well this something good about single front brake. Saw a post in ebay, selling H9 rear brake disc... quite nice, but they has yet answer my queries.

How about changing the dust seal and piston ring? The service manual mention that there's service limit for the caliper piston diameter.

anyone going for the durian fiesta??

yo bro slevin, 919 has a few legal pipes.. arrow (using it now), lv, yoshi, akra and gianelli.. the newly approved is termi pipes..

brake disc in my opinion, only change when its thinning or warpped.. cuz stock disc is actually good enuf unless u use cheapskate pads all this while.. got to send my disc to check if its warped cuz my mech say its warped abit.. maybe tats y im hving numb hand as the vibration is little but consistent..

actually i got the wrong theory.. found out that there's actually slugs building up in the caliper causing the fluid not able to flow properly and thus causing the piston to jam.. it's a like a time bomb waiting to explode.. guys, kindly service ur brake calipers if u have not done so in the past 5 years. ride safe

Lol... has yet decide the durian trip wor... but very tempting... my fren has yet answer me sia. This friday huh?

There's Termi pipes for Hornet? Seen any tri-oval model?

I wonder did you visit simpang bedok during "Brazil and Portugal" match? Saw a 919 with pillion.

The wear on the rear disc uneven... hence I'm still pondering if I should skim the disc or replace it.

Hi all,

I'm a new member from Vietnam, very interested in your website.

I'm looking for a H250 or Cb400. Could anyone can help me? The way to import bike to Vietnam? I have some friend in Singapore as last time I studied there. Thx you all.

LOL, guess that's another 919 ryder. The warp page too serious? Might affect your braking sia. Galfer more expensive than Braking?

Sorry that I'm rather quiet during the meet up... but u got a nice 919... :shades:

Then I shall ask them to service it :) Now must be real good!

there are a lot of legal pipes for H9, but not in SG. i dont know of any bike shop which has available stock for H9 pipes.

the vibrations is consistent to most, if not all H9 bikes. i read another forum from the US, most of the riders have that small consistent vibration.

for me, i've changed to Renthal bars and added Motovation bar ends. cancelled out most of the vibes but not all. maybe gonna change to Rizoma grips, hopefully cancel out the vibes totally.

so your calipers were dismantled totally? which means each caliper is dismantled into halves, piston out and everything? how much did it cost u?

mind ask what pipe you're using currently? What's the catch for Renthal bars? I saw many super four having it.

http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/s-785-prod.aspx (but its from Yoshimura USA) love its tri-cone shape but not as stylo as Fazer6 LV pipe.

to service the caliper is 70.. cost me total 140 that day becoz i serviced other parts too.. 12 years old bike.. alot things need to service.. think the last thing i will do is service the engine after all the exterior parts are done.. currently left the front brake disc and chain & sprockets..

original honda disc is $450.. after market is $150.. crap man.. heard that the aftermarket ones may cause problem...:faint:

OEM disc cost 450SGD? Do you mean just the front alone? Kind of crappy man. Expect spending to be high, wish to spend some money of sliders, anyone tried "equipment extreme"? Any gloves for recommendation?
