Thanks. I too was caught captivated by the Fazer's looks, as the Hornet's quite plain (stock). I'm still deciding, and it may just all come down to price and pillion comfort at the end of the day, and of course, my height (or lack of it).

hmm... alot ppl will tend to compare fazer wif hornet... juz like monster to raptor...

but when tink of it... actually they r quite dif...despite the same inline 4 engine...

one is a half faired bike.. while the other one is solely naked...

if u wanna a bike wif gd low n mid range power.. get a twin... u will soon regret after u whack the trottle.. haha...

however... like wat spectrum said... a fazer is more on top performance.... some more the 1/2 fair allow u to travel a high spd.. w/o affecting much of the ride...

a hornet.. is really a street bike... a street killer... better low n mid compare to fazer... but of cos.. loose out to top lahz..

so... wat i recommend is... noe wat u wanna.... den u can make a better decision..

both r nice bikes i will say.... but size wise... hornet is abit smaller... izzier to suay chia... haha... :cheeky:

Heard about a cafe in a quiet corner somewhere in Changi, The Bark.. or something? Near the industrial area oso.. pool table + tv. If still can't decide, we all settle at home and watch the many dacing behind the coconut tv programmes on wed's then.

Hi Spectrum

Thanks for the detailed evaluation. Certainly adding to my knowledge about the Hornet. Mah was quoting about 17k (after free COE), and 2 months ago when I checked with another bike shop, the FZ1 was going close to 18k.

I also find the finishing for Honda good, relative to Yamaha. I've been like eyeing the Fazer, either 600 or 1000, the whole of the past year waiting for my upgrading test. Now I definitely will be including the Hornet 900 in that search. Just another question - any pluses favouring the H9 over the H6, besides hp? And any knowledge of ease in getting spare parts if something breaks or breaks down?

Hi ayuluv

Thanks for the feedback. I don't really think I'll be big time tourer in M'sia or beyond, more getting a bike to enjoy commuting in S'pore. Think in-line 4 is great (haven't tried any twins), I simply love the smoothness and whine of my specII on the highway. Never ventured beyond 150kmh, don't intend to, but can already feel my bike's engine working very hard already... prob still easy going for the H6 or H9. The half-fairing for the FZ will definitely come in useful, even at Singapore highway speeds, but feel it's just a bit too big for me. I think now 65-35 in favour of the Hornet.

Hi smokin

Definitely not an easy decision, cause budget always tight, so cannot anyhow buy. I've been going from CBRs to GSX-Rs to VFRs to Fazers and back... and now to Hornets as well... ke ke ke... As someone said, half the fun is in thinking about which bike to get and dreaming about it... when finally after buying it... however good the bike is... it's almost always time to think about the next one already. Anyhow, I'm savouring every moment of choosing my next bike. :lovestruck:

You should try a Vtwin if you have the chance. Theres a difference between "whining" out of a corner and "blasting" out of one, big twin rumbling away.

The induction noise, exhaust music, the vibrations, Inline4s seem so tame after riding a twin! But there are very few V-twin street bikes available.

I see... the SV is a twin right? Don't think very popular here. Any other naked twins around which is not too exotic (thinking Duc here)...?

if your riding style is easy going, don't need to get the fzs, go for the one that stings.:goodluck:
