Wow.. Adiva riders all very busy ah.. last post 1 month ago!

Just to share, my battery went flat recently (did not ride for a while lah).

I tried jump start with car, engine cranked but unable to start. So I took out the battery to bike shop to charge. Managed to start after that.

Curious why unable to jump start. Anybody any idea?

Maybe should buy a small battery charger that connects to wall AC plug in case of such cases again. Any recommendations?

Another thing. I don't really like our headlights that brightens up with higher rev. I know this is to maintain a good charge for our battery. I am hoping I can connect a light switch such that I can control low or high intensity manually, instead of automatically by RPM.

Not sure about the 14ah. Mine is the original batt that comes with the bike. Never changed.

hmmm bro,as u use audio with your bike, think it's better if u change to a bigger size battery as stock batt normally cannot take the power surge for long,...... :)

Maybe.. but nowadays I seldom switch on the audio. Noisy lah. Probably because I installed RPM gauge. But lesson learnt, I disconnect the battery if I anticipate that I won't be riding for a while. Better still if anyone can tell me where to buy a battery charger that uses our home electricity?

i had a voltmeter on my bike...it shows 13.6V at idle....and when it revs up, and light comes on during riding, goes to 13.1V. ideally, in other bikes, idle is about 13.6V and riding is about 14.2V. not sure why is it this way here.

VOLTMETER is a must to have, as this bike got no kick start, and u neva know when u gonna be doomed.

as for a light switch, i already have the switches...its just tat i am damn lazy to do soldering and wiring.

stock batt is 14AH....think hayabusa runs on this batt. again wat i find wierd is, R6, running on 8 fuel injectors, tonnes of sensors, 4 spark plugs, runs on 12AH....dunno why this bike need such a high spec batt for. based on race bike experience, bike not in use for long period, unscrew ground cable from batt.

presently getting 31KM/L....dunno what to do to get better efficiency. bike is still full stock.

servicing the bike at TAI SENG KOOI(JB)...since the bike runs on SYM engine, can get spares easily now in JB. just go to a trustable shop.

normally, after how many KM do u guys do belt change?

one more advice, took a look at stock head light bulb....its 30/55W spec....normally shop sell 50/55W.

if u put that bulb, wire harness or socket will easily melt / burn due to overcurrent. Honda RVF faced this problem

30/55W hard to get but can still get.

Hi ambasnakeman. Was told by Mah Pte to check and belt change every 15,000 km. I had my belt change at Future Scootering at 24,000 km. The mechanic took out the belt and saw the belt rubber surfaces is breaking up. I was lucky that the belt does not broke. It also depends on how you ride, if you trottle to move from stop to faster pickup shall shorten the lifespan/

I too has te same reading on the battery volts reading. I think is because of the headlights lighted up during revs causing the drop in the voltage reading.

Till date, I'm quite happy with the preformance which I usually top up 10 litres of petrol during every filling and this 10 litres amount of petrol could bring me over between 280 and 320 km.

I think it was you to ask me if you could call me on my HP to share on my experience with the ADiva in the private email. YOu could call me at 82882300 any time.

based on this pic, its getting 14.2V....now it makes me wonder whether my voltmeter got any problem

just to share, i tested the bike with fuel maxed out.

330km maintank(yellow reserve light doesnt flicker anymore)

120km reserve(ride till enjoy die off)

so in total gives about 450km.

on another occasion, i got about 460km.

Hi very new to this forum....just wanting to know how much does adiva ad200 cost on the road? How many dealer bring in this model? What to look out for when getting this Bike? or any other useful things to know before getting this bike? Thanks in advance.

Is there a difference when I disconnect the + cable instead? I've been doing that ...

Posted

well, its been kinda of subjective. some say +positive and some say -negative cable. from what i learnt, current actually flows in the negative direction and returns to positive. but since, alot of theories and formulas had already been derived based on an earlier assumption of positive to negative, some remove the positive cable instead.

i feel tat, IMO, tat when the negative is still there, current still leaks out from the battery, in very small amounts.

best solution, remove both....eliminates all the "THEY SAY" error.

Anyone try the 18ah battery on ad200?

14ah refers to current rating, not voltage right? i recall adiva89 mentioning his is 14 volt type. i could be wrong.

generally batts got all kinda ah ratings. n based on past bikes experience, example a bike is rated for 10ah batt, n u run 12ah batt, its still ok. but when u try to run 14ah, the jump is big. 2 things can happen. one is batt life gets shortened cos it cant get full charge and the other, it can affect the bike's alternator coil.

i know the ad200 is rated 14ah. 18ah, i wouldnt take the risk. also take note, 18ah is gonna take longer to charge by ur bikes alternator...so if the batt doesnt get full charge, it may not get to 12V, and starting ur bike may become n issue.

i could be wrong, but pls share ur views.

Thanks for the info, I was worry about my battery after added a audio player. Now I've only 12.2V when moving....

see again and again and again and again and again.......:(
