hi guys....

my bike got prob afte prob...sorie for this long post

dis time its like dis...

when warming up the engine...for a few mins..den close throttle...the RPM doesnt decrease to idle speed...instead it "carry on" the same RPM as the last i rev.

means..if the last time i rev high..den close the throttle..the RPM is high

of the last time i rev moderate/low..den close throttle..the RPM is still moderate/low.

in short..it doesnt goes back to iddle rpm.

to counter dis..i rev higher than the 1st rev..n it goes back per normal..

as i urgently need to use the bike...i no choice but on the road when it happens i will clutch in...n rev higher to make it normal again(while riding)...these goes on for about 10 min of travelling...after tat it is normal...

these has been going on for about 2 times..the last 1 is last tuesday( fuel in reserve)..but after refuel...its perfectly fine...no prob..till today where fuel is low again

the last time i had SIMILAR situation is when, according to my mechanic, water goes into my fuel tank, but the pass few days it was not raining and i already fix the problem by covering my fuel cap.

i say it as SIMILAR coz..tat time the RPM will keep increasing like mad..unlike dis time..just stay but at higher RPM.

the only other stuff tat i put into my fuel tank...bside fuel is a few mothball..which works well b4 my skidd accident..

my guess will be either the throttle cable?? float/carb dirty??...or is it coz of the mothballs??if yes..how much roughly will it cost?..

any brightminds can help?...

frankly speaking..RXK is my dream bike..n would keep it at any cost..but the cost is begining to make a whole in my pocket...

TIA..

Listen to the engine. If its louder, means its the engine. If it feels like idling sound, its your tachometer.

This both scenarios happened to me before. First one i got the magnetic coil fixed, the second time i just change a new tachometer.

thank you faisal..really appreciate it...

yes it the one for cupboard..its function is to "clean" the engine..end result will be less smoke out of ur pipe.

tested n proven for old engine...those uncle2 using vespa also do dis..

nt sure bout new engine thou

moth balls?..u listen too much of snake oil salesman

thank your ezzyolier...nt sure when it is replace or oiled...but i confirm tat the throlle goes back to its place..just that the RPM stays..will check tat up wif my mechanic

So, the engine sounds loud? For me, it was free cause the bike still under one month warranty from the shop. I asked them before for YBR, it costs about $130 including labour like that.

u mean magnetic coil or ign coil??

magnetic coil dun influence the rpm..

My bike the tachometer is electrically controlled not through a mechanical cable like others.

Hallo Bro,

I had a problem once with my Yamaha 125z,at a blip of the throttle the rpm will goes up and remain at around 2~2.5k rpm even though i balanced out the air and fuel mixture on the carbs.I did found out that the compression is leaking in the clutch internal rubber gasket.went to malaysia to get it quoted for 40 ringgit..like most bikers i was a happy guy..but the unhappy part is that for 125z, in order to fix the problem ,the leaking gasket was in the inner engine unlike rxz..so overhauling the whole engine must be done in order to get through the problem... after that the problem is gone.do check that on your bike.....funny thing is malaysian they do know a thing or 2 about reed valves and minor issues. =) good luck bro..

@ TS - is it possible to reduce your idling temporarily as the bike warms up? This is the simple, zero cost fix. Of course, you will then need to use the choke to start in cold weather/mornings.

yes its possible..but y bro..need to reduce the iddling temporarily?..i mean ..wat would be the cause of it?...

Good to know - sometimes the problem is from the most simple mechanism.

Btw I was having a bit of "overrunning" RPM issues sometimes due to my air filter not being changed after 10,000km. Amazing amount of crap everywhere! I changed the air filter out and whoa, like new bike. Don't put throttle also can accelerate. Got deafened before I reached 30kph.

Hahahah mothballs? Mythbusters prove that its plausible but i think it won't add any HP to your engine.Get rid of your mothballs.wont bring any benefits to it..
