For the Chinese folks:

Yuw Meng Restaurant

- Location: Kulai Jaya, 30km from JB centre.

- For the old timers who usually go on weekend-night JB trip/speed runs, this restaurant should be familiar to you. They know their seafood well, and can cook sumptuous dishes like chili crab, fried rice/vegetables, anything you'd expect from a seafood restaurant. The downside: Price can sometimes be said as "expensive", and by that I mean almost on par with what you're paying in Singapore. But the food is better in Yew Meng though.

Lok lok (Taman Sri Tebrau)

- Location: Mobile van parked at Jalan Badik

- Landmarks/clues: One block away from Taman Sri Tebrau seafood hawker centre, turn right upon seeing Shell petrol station.

- Lok lok (or "loot loot" as the locals call it") is a mobile restaurant that serves finger-food steamboat.

These vans drive around in populated places and feature on-board steamboat kettles.

As a customer, you dip cold fishballs, meatballs, tofu, or any other interesting stuff in satay-stick skewers into boiling water, and once it's cooked, you eat them directly or dip them in peanut or spicy sauce. Ingredients are somewhat similar to what you'd find in a place specializing in Yong Tau Foo.
