Bro, where did you get the Marchald filters? Change the filter only or the entire enclosure?

everything out... end result is you will only have 1 exposed sponge leading into your air intake... I did my Marchald at Scooter Narcotics...

and revision about the K&N... seems like there's some for sale on ebay...

you're welcome... and you still haven't given me other ideas on how to make the PCX into a maniac yet...

oh I found out what variator and clutch is on mine already... NCY from taiwan... clutch spring is using 1500 rpm ones... not too sure what that means...

Cant put it that way. Valve adjustment is by Mileage, isnt it? My 6 months PCX clocked 12000km. In a year, i would have done 24000km or more.

At what mileage do you suggest to do valve adjustment?? Thank you

What happens when it is not done..

Follow the manual. If the valve adjustment is not done as per schedule, the heat inside engine connect to the pipe will be blocked and resulting in engine power loss. Its like our heart.

The arteries (valve) block up, the heart (engine) have to work extra hard to get the blood (heat) out of the system.

Paiseh. U got the facts wrong.

Valve clearnance is done when the clearance between the valve step and rocker arm/lobe increases.

End result will be noisier and more wear to valve stem (for sohc, rocker arm set up) or Buckets wear (for dohc, sim and bucket setup).

Immediate result is getting noisier, lower performace and FC. Long run is stretch cam chain tensioner.

HOWEVER. If valve clearance too tight, the valve3 will burn out super fast as the valve looses their heat thru the valve seat.

I went thru a few round of trial and error.

Verdict is Do valve clearance only when there is excessive sounds or the performance and FC drops too much.

New bikes valve clearance is actually pretty tight. It's in the tightest specs precribe (eg. 0.08mm-0.12mm. they may even be at 0.081. That is tightest as it can go.)

And new bike tech, they can usually hold the clearance longer than bikes of olden days.

Not to mention PCX uses, roller rocker arm. The Valve clearnace interval is longer than normal rocker arm by 80%.

IF you are concern, Just to a check. DO NOT DO the Clearance if it's within specs.

And it will take a very competent mech to do it.

Alot of mech here do valve clearance without letting the bike to cool overnight. Some don't even use feeler guage.

If you are concern, just do a valve clearnance check with feeler gauge first. The recommended check interval is usually in the owner's manual. If don't have, u will need to hunt online or the service manual.

Saw the Japan specs for the PCX 150.

Abit disappointed. At 150cc, the HP increase is only 1. Torque value is the same. But max torque earlier by 1000rpm.

FC decrease by a few km per liter. aprox 3-4k lesser.

This will means the overall increase in performance is slight increase in Pickup.

Lolz. Never say. Think also some changes to the torque.

12hp at 8500rpm for 125

13hp at 8500rpm for 150.

12nm at 6500 for 125

14nm at 5500 for 150.

Base on the above specs alone. Top should be no diff for other bikes of it class.

Put in the aero dynamic into consideration. I think the Real GPS top will be at 100. meter 110.

Long full throttle will hit 110 gps and 125+ at meter.

Purely speculation for the speed.

then it's more worthwhile to tune the 125 and squeeze out whatever is possible then in my opinion... managed to get 122 on the meter...

after break in, every 3000+ km engine oil, 6000 km spark plug (50000km if using iridium plug)

pcx belt should last you 15000-20000 km depending on your usage.

check your brakes monthly, front brake should be checked if the master cylinder dot 4 level drops below 3/4 and replaced if below 2/3. Rear brake has an indicator mark at the drum, time to change rear brakes if the 2 arrows come too close together when you squeeze the rear brake.

tyres... common sense... botak change... >.>

Haha! Thanks for the info bro!

I got another issue about my bike, the petrol consumption is 39km/l only... The first time I top up, I calculated 42km/l. After then it has been 39 all the way.. Any idea why?

Posted

because you're most probably throttle-happy....

your calculation is using the meter measurement (? L) or tank capacity (6.5L).
