Firstly, you got to tell us what bike you riding.

Secondly, I think the front brakelight maybe cannot adjust. The switch spoil means spoil. It happened to my bike.

Thirdly, check your radiator and hoses for any leaks.

Lastly, there are many 'doctrines' to chain cleaning. For a lazy guy like me, i spray WD-40, let it soak then wash off with a hose. Wipe dry then re-lube it. Its bad for the chain but i am don't have the time and energy to scrub it clean.

I just use Motoworld $3.50 chain lube and lube every 500km. Whole big can lasts for a month or more. X-ring heavy duty chain = zero sag and it won't mind if you heck care the chain for a month. The X-ring is that good.

The shop ran out of O rings chains and gave me an X for free :D

As the resident mechanical expert @crazydj says, just visit your friendly mech for advise regarding the issue.

Quite few of us have the ability to DIY electrical work - it's cheaper and no hassle to go to shop for advise sometimes. Then you won't have to be scared of your DIY soldering falling off when you go 140kph :D

Could be a case of dirt building up in the switch at your front brake lever are. Disassemble switch, careful not to lose the tiny spring in it. Spray WD40 or contact cleaner, reassemble and try. If still persists, probably switch spoilt. Most importantly, check the contact points or wires..... could be a base of lose wiring.

I don't need my chains to last long. New sprockets and chains frequently = I can play with ratios

This. We have a lot in common that we think man. I change my chains about once a year/1.5 years.

maybe ur brake lever doesn't sit properly with the switch..

try moving it around, adjusting it.

are you using original levers?

some local ones are poor fitment..

try using better ones.

hmm i think first u need to check whether ur front brake have the light switch or not.

second check whether the switch have wire attached..

the chain will last longer as wat u mention after installing oiler.

th oiler reduce the shear force/abrasion experience by the pins of the chain which is the main cause of wear chain.

but the spocket dun last the same as the chain. especially the front spocket where the torque is the highest.. when the spocket teeth is sharpen or shaped like a "shark fin", u will have to change the whole set even thou the chain still stay strong.

I have being using my DIY chain oiler for 4 years plus.. the chain do indeed last longer.. but the front spocket dun.

so did you change the chains and sprockets?? what was its life..km?

50,000 km to change chains seem to be very achievable..

someone in sbf..mentioned his chain is over 100,000km and still going strong

I change the whole set after usage of 4 years. But then the spocket wear was severe. Wat u mention that maybe nv need to change chain is abit too much. Cos used chain will not set in wif the new spocket properly. End of the day still need to change whole set.

i ride on average 3000km/year....so u see there is a possibility no need to change chains/sprocket..

for yr case, may not need to change the whole set thru out the usage of a particular bike..

but dun think not all riders have the same usage as u..
