What is stopping CISCO and Premas from anyhow giving fines?

Today when I got home from work I realised I was issued a summon, my office parking area was too dark so I didn't see it when I rode my bike home. The fine was for "Parking without a valid parking coupon" The ridiculous thing was my parking coupon, peeled correctly was in my IU unit. I couldn't understand how can the person failed to see my parking coupon was there.

 

Thinking I might have peeled wrongly, I brought it home and asked my father to double check for me. He told me there was nothing wrong on my coupon, thus my confusion and anger. Why did they summon me for "Parking without a valid parking coupon"?

 

I have sent my appeal already but my fear is they might claim I peeled my coupon after I saw I was issued the summon. Then it becomes a "I say I did" "You say I didn't"

 

And this leads to my question, what is preventing CISCO, Premas or whoever from issuing fines and summons as they wish?

Where got people put coupon in IU! Usual place to put is your fuel tank cap, windshield, or between seat and gas tank that slot.

I am riding a Spark 135. So I have no wind shield, no fuel tank cap and no external fuel tank in front of my seat to slot my parking coupon.

Your question sounds abit wield but if I've not decipher it wrongly you are asking what can be done to prevent these agencies from issuing fines and summons as they wish?

 

I'm sorry to tell u I assume the answer is no as the authority has been delegated to them to execute their job..

I think most of us have experienced getting summoned even though you put a valid coupon. Ultimately it's your word against theirs. You're right, even if you take photo, they can claim that you did it after receiving the summons. This happened to me and in waiving the fine, URA actually suggested that I tore the coupon AFTER receiving the summons. It's very irritating!

Cannot do much but to appeal. I once clipped my coupon on the windshield and also got fined. Came back to bike and did not see my coupon. Either someone really no life take away or the summon officer take and throw and summon me. If they die die want to summon they can do so. I mean what prevents them from doing so? For cars we leave it on the dashboard and can be seen through the windscreen but there is no way anyone can take it out but for bikes?

on that interesting note, there was once i came to my bike to find a summon ticket on my bike, slotted nicely onto my "dashboard". i fumed coz i kiapped coupon... as i was going to work, din bother much there and then and rode off.. upon reaching office, took summon out again and eh?! not my plate no.. -_-"' did not see that bike ever since..

Well the funny question is, do we just let them issue the summon even thou we have paid our duties??? No one ever "CAN" question their authorities. Well i did. And its on a police officer.

 

Caught her using phone and driving recklessly in the patrol car. All i get it telling me that they have taken note and been disciplinary dealth with. Well good enough for me at least its noted that not all authorities are upright. We have to stand up and tear their faces.

Where got no one? I did when i rode TW. When there is no place to "kiap" there is only IU. And since they always like to open IU to put the summon so you put the coupon on the IU is the correct place. Its only they wanna see or not only.

Come on its not like TS hide the coupon UNDER the seat. Its in the IU. Unless the IU is in the seat lor then bo bian. Hahaha... I believe most IU are on the front. So to say. Some may place it somewhere else.

Sorry if I sounds harsh. But what I want to point out is our job to place it clearly for the officers to see mah. 2nd, I don't think they will bother to look for it if they didn't see one, especially at night.

it was raining yesterday so by the time i look at the summon it was wet and i can hardly make out the words, i think there is 2 digits, not sure is $30 or $50. But somehow I feel that putting it in the IU should be quite obvious (mine is in front next to mirror), since the parking coupon is orange and white after all, and the fine was issued at 10.30am so should be bright enough to see. The place which I parked at is a normal bike lot. so can't be because of that reason kenna fined.

 

Basically, i think there is nothing stopping to "give out" summons as they wish since, they can 1) throw away your coupon. 2)issue fine even if you have coupon since it is your word against theirs.
