When an outing is posted, respond only if you are attending.

 

No organiser wans to see posts after posts of "oh, i cant make it becoz of (insert reason/excuse here)"

 

which will definately be followed by "Any outing???" the next day

 

 

Hence, my suggestion is to keep it simple,

 

Either you are coming or you're not coming.

 

Spare us the grandmother stories coz we don't need to know why you're not coming

Anyway, I have a story to tell. i remember not too long ago when I first met up with the R1 guys at KKFC. It was a warm Friday night when I arrived at KKFC at 2105hrs on my spanking new bike.

 

Heart was beating fast as the mind wondered "How will these guys be like?, Are they arrogant and boastful SOBs?, Are they tatooed all over and carry a machete under their pillon seat?. I waited, time passes by slowly as I had a fag to cool my nerves. 2115hrs.....no R1 in sight......2130hrs.....no R1 in sight. "Did they bubble me?" I thought...The mind races through thinking what to do if they did not turn up. Then a call on my mobile..

 

"Hello?"

"Ay backmarker, its me Ah Joe, Where are you?" says

"KKFC?" in a cracking nervous voice.

"Eh sorry, sorry. We met up at another place cos someone reported the Kallang was raining" as Ah Joe tries to console himself.

"Ah...nope the weather is fine here bro"

"Ok, we will come over, wait for us...sorry ah..sorry." as tries to make peace.

"Ok no worries bro, I will wait" as i settle down for another fag.

 

2200 hrs, the rumble of aftermarket pipes can be heard as 4 pairs of brightly lit cat eyes turned into KKFC. Introducing ..... Milan, Ah Joe, Tyrel and Martin. After standing around for a fag for a few minutes, we went for an easy ride to Changi cos Martin's bike and mine are still running in. Stopped at Changi Village and chatted about bikes, football etc for a couple of hours.

 

After a while we moved off and met Shaun while crossing the road to our bikes. Started my bike and found my tail light was not working. The thought of transvestities molesting my bike sent shivers down my spine. The night ended with friendly goodbyes as we rode off. Martin blasted out of a traffic light to everyones surprise.

 

I reached my carpark and had a fag while taking stock of the nights events. Well these guys are alright afterall. I had a nice introduction to the group.

 

First meet ups are not easy as meeting strangers can be really nerve wrecking. But we only stay as strangers until we exchange greetings.

4 gig should be 50+..
