Interesting info: The R1 has crossplane crankshaft that runs with an uneven firing interval of 270º - 180º - 90º - 180º.

So, will it have more torque in the lower revs? Surely it will make a different exhaust note.

Fat end cans are the in thing these days, no thanks to EURO emissions. I bet new owners will bin it for aftermarket ones right after it leaves the dealership. :thumb:

i find it too bulky. esp the exhausts. would hv preferred a slimmer, sleeker look. now it looks as huge as kawa.

It does look a tad like the 07 ZX10R. Looks like I may just have to change camp to a Gixxer next...

Don't like it at all. Not a big fan of the huge whoopass end cans, headlights and tail. R1s are supposed to look sleek, but this new model looks clumsy.

i wouldnt complain much... i like the tail, and tat FAT ass can must go. :) it could looks better in person i think... let see when it hit dealers here

Deja vu when I first saw the 09 R1. The sad thing is, I find the ZX10R to be more aesthetically pleasing to my eyes... :cheeky:

as from the pics, the projector lights are protuding without any form of protection, as in a plastic cover, like all previous bike have...

unless some1 planning to use raceshield on the headlight itself which i dont know the shiled can withstand the heat or not...

but its a nice looking design... just have to wait and see when it comes to our shore..

If you look closely.... it's not a bare projector light. there is an outer cover.
