hi guys, thinking of getting a gsxr-600 k5 for weekend riding/track use....

 

can anyone share what kind of set up is needed for track? also, can share how much it will cost to go track? i know must change oil and tires....

 

hmmm its all about the rider... and how the way he rides his bike... i can tell you mine but it might not suit ur way of riding...

 

first thing is to set up the suspension stock suspension on the K5 are fully adjustable so u need a preload adjust and a flat tip screw driver for the rebound and compression... for me i set my rebound 7/9 clicks, compression 6/9, as for the rear my rebound is adjusted by my mechanics.. i have no idea

 

tyres u can get super corsa or the new pilot pure.. not bad... and it cost 35rm on weekdays and 50 rm on week ends and 85 on track days...

best is get ur mech to check it.. FI= Fault Indicator. a code will appear on the meter.. get the code n check at the web.

Took over in this condition and as the roads are crawling with tps lately, i need your kind help in pinpointing the non

legal parts and if possible, where to get them to make this bike legal again.

Signals

 

Front type is just a small led.

Is led signals legal?

If i wanted smoke or clear signal covers, are they legal?

Or must i stick to the bulb type with yellow covers?

 

Tail light

This isnt the k1 original tail right?

 

Mud guard

I have a small hugger on the wheel but not the plastic part that holds the number plate. Where can i get this item?

its illegal without it right?

 

exhaust

 

Long story short, i cant confirm if the exhaust is road legal or not.

 

I called mezzo.

150 for silencer

150 for cert

100 for transfer

50-70 for inspection

 

Called hkl for cheapest end can.

Scorpion 700 Stanless steel 600 carbon. Think it includes cert and all except the inspection cost.

 

Spoilt meter

Quoted 700 for a new one. Can i use those Koso meter? is it compatible?

 

Noise

Noise from right side of bike when on the bike when idling

Nothing alarming. Riding is alright. anything to worry?

 

Braking

Intermitten front braking at slow speeds. how to rectify?

 

Windscreen

Can i get a total black or smoked wind screen? is it legal?

khalid take a look at ebay. If ordering a new design, make sure it comes with the tank design as well or you may have it painted or covered with bagster.

Hi you can get it at the Suzuki agent spare parts shop. It's located at Rangoon road name Guan hoe. The shop on top got one big suzuki logo one. It will cost ard $20+. Cause I just checked. Im also getting mine, previous owner took it out.
