TRE:

EXPLANATION:

Your ECU (the bike's fuel injection computer) takes readings from the sensors on the bike. Things like RPM, intake air pressure, throttle position, and the like, and computes how much fuel to inject into the cylinders to make the bike run correctly.

As I understand it, the gahment got involved in this, but I'm not sure. At any rate, when you are in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gears, the computer figures out how much fuel to inject as usual, but, to limit torque, it backs off this amount and / or closes the secondary throttles a bit to limit your power. This is to keep torque down when you are in the lower gears. I guess it's to keep you from zipping around on the streets or whatever. It doesn't do this in the higher gears, because if you're in 4th gear or higher at low RPM's and nail it, you don't have much torque anyway.

The gear position sensor is a variable resistor. When in 1st gear it's like 500 ohms. When in 6th gear, it's about 15,000 ohms. So, if you clip the wires going to the ECU, and hook up a 15K ohm resistor, the ECU *THINKS* you are really in 6th gear all the time because it is sensing 15K ohm (6th gear) of your resistor rather than what the GPS is actually reading. So, when you roll on the gas, it puts out the full amount of power the engine is capable of.

That's basically the gist of it. It makes a difference in the feel of the bike. Ever notice that in 1st gear, you can rev to around 3K RPM, then nail the gas wide open, and the bike sort of hesitates? That is because of this built in retard. With the mod, you get power quicker and smoother. Also, when going slow on streets or in parking lots, when you close the gas you get a real hard engine braking. This is a whole lot less with the mod. It's just smoother all around.

as for top, smelly smelly oso got 270.

corsa is gd, but be prepare to change after ard 4-6 mths.

arrow sounds great on a gixxer.

mayb u can hav a try on it.

as for e PC.2, i find no need for a stock 750.

even with K&N filter & a aftermakert pipe, 'tuning' can still b done with TEKA.

SANFU, They wash the fuel injectors and tune.

Cost $90.

To reprogram ur bike's ECU, Bikelab or Looi's got do it.

Only difference at Looi's, they dynorun ur bike and setup accordingly. Cost $80.

At Bikelab, they just trial and error by reving ur bike on neutral gear, setup accordingly. Cost $50.

LEAF departure is B`cos of WIND pursit or TREE didn't ask her to stay?

Hey guys, ever notice that our tank is very near to the main frame? In fact if you go and give the tank a push side way, the tank actually can touch the frame. Well it happen to me where both side of my frame have dent mark from the tank. And my tank's paint is partly chip off. So advise for those whos bike haven't kanna, try to put a rubber pcs at that spot to prevent it from happen.

so looi's does dynojet run....

washing and tuning can be done at sanfu...

how about installing TRE....after installing it, do i have to do any tuning to it...

went unity juz now. ah xiong told me tat based on a foreign report on our 600k4, after they did a test dynorun on our machine, they find out tat there's actually power cut in the engine, causing the bike to be lack of power & producing only 98hp, thus making it to have the worst performance, compared to the other 3 600s(r6, cbr & zx636). but the handling is still one of the best.

dunno how true izzit, but anyway, how do u guys view the above comments? o_O

Today, in Palmdale, California, WITH A 25 MPH HEAD/CROSS WIND, in front of all the Cycle World editors and representatives of Ducati, Honda, Triunph, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha, Rickey G does the impossible. In a test for Cycle World for the best Middle Weight bike out, Dragracing has now experienced it's first BONE STOCK 9 second 600 pass..... Or passes!!! Guess what....... It wasn't on a Kawasaki. The Yamaha R6, ran a BLISTERING 9.93@135mph, backed up by a 9.98@135mph. The numbers were.....

1.54 60'

4.17 330'

111mph 1/8mi.

9.93@135mph

NOTE, these bikes are the dictionary definition of stock. NO WEIGHT, stock pipes, -1 front sprocket, lowered, no race gas or motor work, and THAT'S IT!!!!

The test bikes included the Ducati 749, Triumph 650, Honda CBR 600RR, Suzuki GSXR 600, Kawasaki ZX-6R, and Yamaha R6. The test started with ALL the bikes at stock height. The Ducati went 10.71@127mph. The Triumph went 10.60@129mph( ). The Honda went 10.42@130mph. The Suzuki went 10.39@128mph. The Yamaha went 10.36@132. And last but not least, the Kawasaki went 10.34@132mph. What is the fastest you've ever seen a stock height 600 go??? i guarantee it isn't three tenths of those #'s!!!

They then decided to take the two fastest bikes and lower them. That was the Yamaha and the Kawasaki. The Suzuki was down on horsepower and had the second to lowest mph with near flawless passes, while the Kawi and the Yamaha were the only two bike that he could not keep on the ground in first gear. These factors are what made the Kawi and the Yamaha the chosen bikes.

With 2" ground clearance, the first pass for the Kawasaki was a 10.16, with a 1.55 60', but the shock was hitting the swingarm so they had to raise it back up. Then, 4 passes later, with a 1.58 60' and a 4.27 330', the Kawi went 10.02@135mph. The first pass for the Yamaha was 10.12. Then 3 passes later, with a 1.55 60' and a 4.23 330', the Yamaha went 9.98@135mph. Them came back and went a 1.54 60' and a 4.17 330', and went 9.93@135.

Now, this is getting Crazy!!!! I honestly can't believe that a stock 600 went 9's. I wish there was still a 600ss class. If these bikes were setup S/S legally, they will go 9.50's easy!!!!

Stay tuned fellas, Rickey Gadson will go to Cali next month to test ALL the new 1000's!!!! THAT should be interesting!!!!

My experience when I rode kinwei's bike is that I noticed that the low~mids of the new G6 is really weak in comparison to the R6, not much better than the super4 in my memory. But when he rides it, it is not slow at all, only notable difference is when we did same gear roll ons from ~6k. This probably amplified the diff in mid range torque between the 2 bikes, the r6 is beginning to wind up at 6k while the G6 is still taking its own sweet time. It goes to show that riding a 600 is about being very aggressive on the throttle and picking your gears just right. The rest is all handling.

Handling wise, I think the G6 is probably more stable through the turns, R6 is very sharp but tends to head shake easily, even with a steering damper.
