I think the best is to get the GI-Pro TRE, which come with a gear indicator. But it very exspensive. :giddy:

Cost about $200 plus right ?

Actully, TRE is very hard to spoilt, reason is as you know inside is just a resistor, and the current passing through it is very small, thus the chances of the resistor being fried is pretty small. Actually I dun remember the rpm will drop during idling. It happen to you all the time?

dats what i think also.. Coz so far, not much of a problem running thru the rpm .. For my idling, now it's at around 1.4 like that laa.. so........................ i guess should be no problem hor.

Ok i got 2 question:-

1) What does Valve clearance do ? As in what do they check for ?

2) For a K4/K5 G6, compare to a R6'06, since the R6 has got a more higher RPm ceiling, it will mean that once the G6 clears the Rpm for a certain gear, the R6 will still pull away a bit right since it's got a few more Rpms to go ? (provided both are in the same gear)

Wa....i think dyno liao...should have 189BHP....~~~

i am looking at 200bhp. LOL

And the GI-pro TRE cost 200plus. But i think it really a very nice display. Specially for the k4/5 600 which do not have gear indicator.

Valve clearance , they will use a filler guage to check your clearance of your valve. Our service manual will have a min allowance and max allowance clearance state. So the mech will need to insert the guage and measure and adjust according. Somethime will even after adjust also cannot, you need to grin your valve. It a lot of work.

More RPM does not mean bike will pull away more, it depend on the power of the bike and touqueof the bike, i believe if compare a roll on btw a k4/5 G6 and a 06R6 , the gixxer will pull away first, but will be overtaken by the R6 very fast.

(i assume both bike gearing are stock)

if you feel your bike is losing power. normally ppl will do valve clearance at abut 40000km or more. if i am notwrong Our service manual state it at 20000km.

vavle clearance is hard work, so it not cheap.

Just a word of precaution for those riding K6/7. Recently I was taking out my side mirrors. And when I was unscrewing the special nut, the bolt snap. Leaving partial of the bolt stuck inside the mirror base. Then when I took out the mirror, I discover the other bolt is also going to crack. For those who had took out the mirror before might realise that the bolt itself have a allen key slot at the bottom end, but fact is, it cannot tahan heavy torque. Both the allen key slot crack also. Thus now one of my mirror cannot be used. I have tried alot of method to get the broken bolt out of the base, but cannot. Thus leaving me no choice to go buy one from ebay. Then I decided not to take the risk and change the bolt to those stainless steel cap screw (M6x25mm) for the okay side mirror. I dunno what the F**k susuki is doing, using such a weak bolt for the mirror. Anyway I've post a picture of how it will look like after using the cap screw just in case you all have no idea what I'm talking about. :cheeky:

hey i think k7 nt using allen key for

the base.. if i'm nt wrong shld be

those normal nut n bolt..

correct mi if i'm wrong..

for the Gi-Pro comes with

TRE n gear indicator right ? but k7

has already got the built in GI.

so that means both GI will be working

at the same time ?

hahaa.. am i asking a dumb question..
