ya..its basic expansion/contraction, esp since petrol is a volatile substance

yup xniner is right. Hot day, petrol expands so the amount u fill into your petrol tank is not accurate when petrol contarcts.

On a cold or cool day when u pump, the amount of petrol u get is almost 100% accurate and its worth it for your petrol :thumb:

milan, pls give us a more in-depth n precise elaboration on the fundamentals of hydrocarbons, with specific reference to structural chains as well as boiling points

but seriously, im sure milan can explain better since tis is his ricebowl :thumb:

the normal boiling point for gasoline is abt 35-39 degree celsius. the lower the density of the gasoline the more prone it will subjet to expansion n contraction. usually the density for gasoline is abt 0.72XX to 0.75XX. the expansion n contraction theory is not realli significant at ambient temperature unless the under ground tank in the petrol station is chilled.

yes. gasoline is a volatile substance. it contained alot of light end stuff which will evaporate if keep uncapped.

when the gasoline enter the combustion chamber, the physical characteristics that we have to look out for besides the RON level is the final boiling pt, if the FBP is low, meaning the fuel consumption is higher. same as for the density, too low a density will burn off faster as well. so in theory its very difficult to get the best of everything,

i think gasoline blending is an art. thats why till now i am still learning. btw volume of the gasoline is closely relate to its density as well. for the same volume of gasoline u pump at the petrol station, if the density is higher, then technically your bike will feel heavier.

just an extra information, a certain premium grade of petrol that people highly regard is not as fuel efficient as it claims. the FBP is only 170+ .compared to a normal 190+ that means the petrol will burn faster. no doubt the petrol is pure and high RON level, but it doesnt give u more milage. so the most expensive doesnt mean it gives u more milage.

but i think u all dun get my point!!! Wat I meant is that, if my tank empty, then I should pump in 18l of petrol right???, If like wat u guys say, petrol evaporates very fast!!! Then I should have pump more than 18l to reach full tank instead of 16++l oli right....

Anyway, u all got go dam today???

Joe: u got letter liao, about speeding???

I jus checked the spf, havent update leh

my point is your tank can never be bone dry, and also there could be error in the flowrate at the gas station. and the tank couldnt be exactly 17.8L as wat the they claimed. there will be always room for error.

our tank is measure by volume tat can contain 18L bt in betwin there r cutting edge tat concave in which the gas u refill cant take up such space....likewise a 40L box with nice cutting edges concave will nt contain 40L of water/gas or watever....in secondary school de math gt teach u calculate volume mah....only external measurements r taken to giv u the internal capacity of our 18L tank....

Do petrol companies conbine diff FBP and diff density to get that magic formula? IYO, which is the best petrol in term fuel consumtion? Which petrol is best for perforamce?

CAn you please explain in layman term wat is FBP..

Hope u dont mind the many questions...Thank you so much...

so meaning tat more expensive gas r cleaner n burn faster n produce more power n less millage....

on the other hand low grade gas burnt slowly tats y less power n last longer si bo???

so ur conclusion is tat ,no such thing as hi power n hi millage gas unless got additional price??

hahax.. no la i did not sell mine for 9.5K.. i trade in for my 04 model..

I actually wan to sell at 9.5K with all my accessiores but the market very Sux! i went to bike shop and most bike shop give mi 6K plus only and got 1 shop even worst they only take in 5.3K with all my accessiores.. i was thinking wat the FISH? the value of 01 model so jialet meh.. than i try bike forum but all the PM and phone call i got was asking abt my accessiores only, no one call to ask for the bike..Worst things was there was also another guy who was selling his R1 wit Yoshi at only 6.9K..(Haiz) I realli felt depress and got no choice to trade in to bike shop but lucky at least the price the shop taking in was not bad and i got a good price for my R104..

Next thing is the bike shop tell me once the 07 model start to roam on the road and think for 1 more year even i wan to trade in he also dunwan to take liao because no ppl wan old model R1 liao.. So my advise is can sell quickly sell if not jialet liao but for ppl tat dun wan to change bike can just keep it as a normal riding transport lor..

bro not to worry so much..my k7 every other day da FI will appear, for me its c46, which is exhaust valve. went to bike lab and to get their advise, they told me FI bikes are veri sensitive, a slight tension or lose of the cables or it can reali mean smtin wrong wit it will cause da FI to appear. but as ours are new bike it usuali will be da first senario.

even so i brought ma bike to Imotor whr i bought from and they simply told me to remove ma exhaust valve, which i chose not to. so nowadays whenever FI appear i wud off da kill switch n let it rest for awhile b4 restartin.

hope tt helps.ma 2cent worth of advise
