PROCEDURES ON IMPORTATION AND REGISTRATION OF A MOTORCYCLE OR SCOOTER IN SINGAPORE

Import Procedures All motor cycles or scooters imported into Singapore for local use, the importer is required to apply for a Joint Inward and Payment declaration to cover the imports and payments of Customs duty and GST via TradeNet System. Customs duty on a motor cycle or scooter is levied at 12% of the Open Market Value (OMV). In addition, a 7% GST (with effect from 1 July 2007) is levied at time of import. It's SGD 9.5k here. Now got promo...SGD 8.5k...exlude coe, iu and insurance.

You do the maths.

just comparing machine price ba...

iu is what 150 dollas...contraption of EVIL

COE is EVIL too so LPPL

insurance compared to what i used to pay for my car when i was p-plater i consider cheap ba... at what 400+ only

now is to decide to add wave disc or not...

add handguard or not add this or that or not...

think about leovince pipe coming or not...

Go easy on acc. Go for protective first especially for our age. Jacket, sliders, alu hand guard. Cosmetic later. If you change pipe now how do you know what's stock? How to bench mark?

Speak to Mike. He can give good advice.

dun mind me asking, what are sliders and hand guard? so you pre-ordered already?

Sliders to protect bike when you fall over or slide.

Hand guard is the "cover" of hand grips to protect fingers and levers incase of crashes.

Yeah, sliders can prevent expensive repairs to the bike's frame, swingarm or forks..

For handguards, I remain undecided cos for the many times i fall, I 'throw' my bike away, try to head and arms tuck in and just slide....

Hand guards look cool too! Provide some shelter from the cold winds at night...

So how many dukes here book their dukes Liao huh?

So its anybody's guess when it will arrive in SG shores...

Latest by June 2012 perhaps? earliest by Feb 2012 maybe? Only Mr Ong knows i think...

i think 125cc is sufficient for "old bones" like me...wait till class 2 then get a really fast one...
