Hi All

Cant remember if anyone else has done it, but I've got a HID Xenon kit coming for my S3. Has anyone done this; last time I did it, was fitting a bi set to a subaru impreza sti. It was quite straight forward, and it looks (can be deceiving) that the S3 shouldn't be too difficult. The hardest thing last time I did this was getting the height and light dispersal right.

Will keep you updated on how easy... and of course what it looks like. Pics will be taken.

I've installed a pair of electrical horn at MotoWorld kaki bukit. If I recall correctly, the cost is $15 (horns) + $20 for the relay. Labour not sure inclusive or not because I installed together with the 2-channel cameras recorder (free installation).

Now the horn sounds like a car's horn, loud and sometimes still shock my wife (pillion) if she's not paying attention to road condition.

As for the KNN, I wanted to install but not recommended because I ride to extremely dusty environment at work so end up never install.

had to get it off my chest. pretty pissed with cka bukit batok. long post but i really hope CKA will really look into the management of their subsidiary to at least maintain their image.

just got my 2nd hand s3, so went to cka bb last friday coz nearest to my house to do servicing.

highlighted some problems like seat button not working, weird engine noises, and rear brake went soft and got weird sound. and i requested throttle body cleaning.

so the mech start to change the EO then he start pushing the engine flush which i didn't mind. then he didnt understand throttle body cleaning but then he start pushing the OWS fuel injector system cleaner which he say does the same thing. i got it in the end.

seat button the mech say the button spoil so he change new one still not working, so he told me some other day leave the bike in the shop he slowly diagnose. then he say the coolant water too little then he start to push the expensive coolant. then i told him i just want normal 1, then he start sayng the coolant tank dirty insist i change. i ask him whether washable he say cannot, in the end i just got him to drain and top up new coolant.

rear brake he say need to change the whole brake pump without looking at the brake. i start to get sceptical with his skill so i told him to just air blow the brake dust between the pads. in the end i spend like $114 at his WS.

The rear brake starts to feel really weird so i went over to CKA kaki bukit for 2nd opinion.

i have to say CKA kaki bukit have really good mechs, Roy and team really knows their stuff. sorry din get the other 3 guys names, but it was the short guy who fixed my bike.

He immediately saw that my brake pump is missing the brake pads, and 2 large screws that is holding the brake pad is missing. the engine holder screw also missing. i explain my situation to him and what the mech at cka bb told me. Roy straight away call cka bb to scold them, apparently cka bb couldnt give roy a satisfactory reason why they didn't see the problem.

the brake pump have been filed down, and the brake disk warped, in the end cannot save so Roy bobian ask me to change to a newer model of brake pump, which set me back $550. he did gave me some other cheaper alternatives.

he then proceed to check the seat button, which he couldn't believe his eyes, coz the problem was simply the line had been unplugged.

during the whole dismantling process, he also point out some mistakes cka bb did, like wire stuck between the fairing, and that they did not check the very high idling.

I have to say, i'm impressed with cka kaki bukit, for been very determined in finding all the faults, and remedy them to ensure the confidence of the customer. i think i had held them back an hour after they supposed to knock off, but they insist on completing the repair.

i have to stress again to the CKA management, to quality check on their sub branches, to maintain a highest standard for they are ultimately the sole distributor of daelim.

So far CKA Kaki Bukit servicing has been pleasant. My coolant tank was cracked, and they got it replaced within 40 mins. Still under warranty I think, no charge. :)

Hi Guys

I'm changing my bike in the next month or so and was looking for a bit of advice.

My Daelim S3 125 has 17.5k km's on the clock, and is in excellent condition. Has a back box, almost new tyres, full CKA service history. (white one)

I've loved this bike, its been super reliable, sorry to see it go.... but after 2 yrs I want to go back to old school "leg over" motorcycling.

I was wondering firstly how much is a Daelim S3 2 yrs old with this use going for, I really don't have the first clue?

Of course where's the best place to sell it also?

Any help gratefully received!

Hey Adair, for starters I would try the following channels. My preference would to sell direct to buyer.

1) Buy & Sell section on this website or SG Bikemart (or any other websites that is applicable).

2) Sell back to CKA. Also ask if they can help you sell for a fee.

3) Identify the next bike you like & ask to trade-in (plus top-up if required)

I believe might have more options. Anyone more experienced to share?

Really appreciated. Anyone have any ideas of 2nd hand value?

Hey Adair69, are you really want to sell your S3? I am interested but price wise, if you can offer at reasonably which I will consider. Buying a new one is really tough for me. And getting a used bike may also pose some risks of wear and tear repair which may in the end costlier. Consider to strike a deal?

Dear S3 owners;

Any one has DIY their own headlight On/Off switch to turn off the main headlight during day-time, leaving the LED lights on?

I personally dun think the led main light is necessary. Ours is unique the way it is.

I managed to DIY the switch to on off the main light. Some wires, a 12v switch from sim lim sq and some time to remove panels and route the wires produce good results.

Dunno if I'm considered "sway" or what my S3 had these problems for the last few months:

a) Loose exhaust pipe cover (resolved at no cost)

b) "rattle" sound from "loose" plastic plate with Daelim logo (resolved at no cost)

c) LED from rear light - Have to replace entire LED (cost more than S$100).

Now the latest issue is the bike cannot start... Yes the battery is drained. I didn't ride for a week and the last I checked the seat was locked and secured so there is no way battery would have drained from the storage light... Sianzzz...

Bro;

I had the same problem. Unlikely due to the bike. More likely the battery. When life is up, it is up. But dun just throw away the battery first. Charge it using a battery charger overnight. Then test the voltage both loaded and unloaded to decide whether it is dead.

Anyway, it isn't necessary to replace using the same battery. U can buy any other battery that can fit into the slot and it will work just fine. I used another spare battery that I have lying around and it works just fine.

Hey dluberk, I think you can offer your DIY services for people like me with next to zero technical knowledge. PM you some details. If anybody wants to know the cost for replacing the battery, PM me.

Battery is not that difficult to tackle. The broken starter switch at first caused alarm but it turned out to be managable and easily solved.

Fellow S3 riders;

Want to have a meetup session just to get to know each other? And also share some knowledge about our scoot? Seems like S3 is not popular and I have only seen 2 black and 1 white S3s around so far.
