I'm riding the CBR600RR'04 model. It's a great bike. It's nice to look at and easy to handle. But really no comfort to pillion ( which i dun care !!) and no storage except ur little parking coupons ( which I dun really care either!)

It's the zoooommm factor that matters. I dun find it uncomfortable at all to ride it even for an hour or so at a stretch.Maybe I used to riding sports bikes all my life.

Times are sad for me.....maybe looking at selling it near July as I may not want to renew the insurance & road tax.Anyone interested? :?

There are ppl who like to ride in the high rev or powerbend zone, the high revving sound of the engine simple give them the kick. Therefore if you like there and for a 1000cc to get there u hav to ride at higher speed to enjoy it, but to keep within the speed limit is another thing. 1000c torque is high but required extensive throttle and clutch control as mentioned earlier.

Alittle :offtopic: here...thread abt which 600cc, not 1000cc vs 600cc or something else...Hee

Anyway which 600cc will depend on rider, wat you looking for? Looks, comfort, storage space, price, etc...

Been to Looi Motor a few times:

636 - Highest cc amount all, heard it's insurance and roadtax can fight a 750 or even 1000?

GXSR - Looks not bad, the headlight n taillight looks damned nice, instrumental panel looks cool, riding position feels more racing type

R6 - Outlook chio sia...heard next version coming with undertail exhaust

CBR - Felt it's most comfortable, perhaps it's due to my 1.82m height the legs does not feels as cramp as on GXSR. On specs, it's the heaviest I think, and heard not much space inside to put things

Go try out various bikes and not just look at the specs...

28th Jan 05 - 16th April 06 Honda NSR SP150 (Pro-arm)

1st Apr 06 - Nov 06 Honda CB400SFYJ HyperVTEC, 17th Oct 06 - ???? Honda TA200 Phantom, Nov 06 - Apr 07 Honda Wave-R, Apr 07 - ???? Subaru Impreza AWD

Official Road Trips

7th-8th May 05 - Malacca (460km round)

2nd April 06 - Mersing (240km round)

6th-10th July 06 - P.Pinang ; Hatyai, Thailand (1900km round)

How come this old thread out of the blue suddenly appears? Just for the record, I did not dig this up guys. Anyways, for the 600cc sportsbikes, GSX R600 is the one for me... :lovestruck:

When you are passionate about big litre sportsbike, the money splurged on it is money well spent. Initially, I rode my 400cc sportsbike just for transport purpose only. Out of boredom, I went to sign up for my Class 2 licence on the spur of the moment. Once I bought and ride my R1, it opened up a whole new experience for me. Hanging out with biker pals, making new biker friends and blasting away at the NSH. Though an expensive passion, I don't feel the pinch at all... :cheer:

I'm not a fan of the underseat exhaust sportsbikes cos of the heat emitted that affect your riding comfort...

Actually I was all set to get a brand new red 05 R1 last year. However, after I did my research on the bike by communicating with the 04/05 R1 bikers overseas, all have one major complaint on the 04/05 R1. The heat from the underseat exhaust is too hot. If the riders there in the US, where the weather is cooler are complaining of heat, I dread to imagine how hot it will be for me in tropical Singapore where the weather is hot and getting stuck in traffic is a nightmare. So got the 02 R1 instead...

Dats y the more $$$ u put for downpayment, the better....

Afterall, its still cheaper than owning a car. Less the comfort u'll get. But in return, u get the thrill of high speed adrenalin... :D

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................

i can see a problem with that in summer. I've got mates who ride 04 CBR600RRs and they do mention that it gets a bit warm in summer and late spring. BUT i bet it'd be lovely in Winter and autumn :D i love nothing better than stripping off my gloves and putting my hands near the opening of the microns everytime after a ride nowadays.

but i suppose riding in sub degree temperatures kinda does that to you... i think i'd like a bike with an underseat exhaust purely for that reason ehehehe.
