I may (may only, ah) make a trip to KL during this CNY. Thinking of night trip to avoid the jam.

Hey Spyder8850. You should have consulted Phang before buying the TPS 15. He is the accessories guru here. He also loves to drink beer. :thirsty:

I was introduced to the fuse box by him.

For servicing tips, look for Snoopy and cow. :p

I should have... So, anyone interested on the TPS 15 here?

Going up Koh Samui tomorrow night, anyone has anything new to update? Anyone heard about the rally by the yellow team? (Thaksin). I remembered that they are suppose to do a rally but was postponed because of the King's B-day?

Anyway Merry Christmas guys...

hmmm... have to take a rain check for the time being... still actively looking for a job after my oct retrenchment. If i Get a job then maybe will join u...

Anyone have any job for me???:cheeky:

Sorry to hear that. In fact, my job is hanging in the balance too. Company holding retrenchment exercise next year. :pity:

A reminder to live life well within our means and not to over-stretch our finances in these uncertain times.

Like Phang, who knows so much about farkles but refrains from farkling his own bike. :clapping:

Spyder, I did my diving last year in nearby Koh Tao. Highly unlikely there will be unrest there. The locals are more interested in making money from tourist. Enjoy your trip.

Yap, almost 3 weeks. Of course, not all that time was spent on my bike. The mech admited he was busy with something else. Probably something unexpected popped up as he was the one who told me to bring the bike in on that date.

I 'tahan' and resisted pushing him as I don't want a rushed job. I think it paid off. Like I said earlier, I am very happy (so far) with his handiwork. He did extra work that I did not even requested, like crafting a neat aluminium mounting plate for the fuse box.

He also replaced a clamp for the fuel hose that was worn. Finally, no more fuel leak and no more petrol smell that had been bothering me.

Woah, you resprayed your R1100R ah? Must see. Come join us for coffee lah.

BTW, are your shocks still original? Thinking of changing? Or saving the $ for GS?

BTWx2, bikerblues swapped his beemer for a Harley. Traitor! :gun::eek:

Lai ah, lai ah. Those who want to test ride queue up behind me OK?

Yes, that's sacrilege! Burn him at the stake! This must not be allowed!

My mole tells me its a 1200 Sportster. Probably something like this.

I can already smell the chrome from here...

I see.Yah it's worth the wait if the mech includes some 'extras' or goodies out of goodwill.

It was my early-model super 4 dat i had a paintjob 3 yrs ago.spent a lot of cash on the bugger.

yup still got the stock shocks on.it was a small "shock" (pun intended) when i crossed over from my super4 specIII to the Roadster n found the ride bumpy. I dont say the showas on the Honda were fantastic but the ride was smoother. i do want to change to wilburs but this is big ticket stuff n finances are on some things else rite now. A GS is nice but not now.still paying installments for this baby plus i'm enjoying my ride.the practicality.

heard abt bikerblues looking around for a harley some time back thru the boss of Dili .he wanted a XR1200.gd for him lah

ok will join for kopi

Not too many beemers in the running, and there's a Super Rocket? Will be keeping an eye on the Chinese bikes and teams, see what the might of China can accomplished. It's at ESPN Channel 23, I think.

HeyMr Currypuff (AKA the master of BMW bikes), why you call me traitor? Surely after riding 15 beemers since 93 and now still co sharing a 25yr old R80 with my brother does not make me one right?? I jz happen to love bikes and besides beemers, have owned many jap, italian and american bikes...so whats the whats the problem of me letting go my beloved R for the XR1200?? I have after all wanted the XR since last year and Mamat who seem to know me better correctly pointed out..

Anyway, not to sound too childish here, i will let this comment pass as mere boredom on your part in the virtually open forum.. My offer to give you the bagster (in the real world) is still good so txt me for kopi and the tank bra is yours...

cheers and have a good day.

to all reading this..we are all bikers and regardless of the brand or make of our bikes, we are all the same (vunerable) when we are on the roads so ride safe and happy 2010 to you all..

Woah, my joke seems to have backfired!

In the past, there were similar hurt feelings in my club when members discussed the merits of HD, beemers, Jap bikes, etc. In hindsight, I should have been more sensitive with my comments.

My appologies to all for the above remarks. :sorry:

I am no hardcore BM loyalist. My previous bikes were Japs and one Taiwanese model. I just happened to come across this one while shopping for a replacement. Since it falls within my budget, I thought I would give the German a try. I would have got a Harley if one had appeared at the right time.

So far, I am just happy that it is a reliable machine that get me to and from my office.

Anyway, another lesson learnt. No more brand jokes from now on.

Hi papabread79,

Thanks for the kind words. Mr blues and I have kissed and made up (not literally, of course!) over a cup of kopi. This episode shows how easy it is to have a misunderstanding in a forum. We can't tell a person's intention without hearing the tone or seeing the person's face.

Anyway, hope to see you again soon at LC.

Hi bikerblues,

Thanks for the additional poison. :sian:

Very long and interesting read.

But US$7500 for a turbo system? Can buy a GS Adventure liao. Well, almost... ;)

The Spyder Full exhaust at US$900 is more reasonable (relatively speaking). But what do I do with my GPR then?

I think better wait for you to install the turbo plus the Remus on your black XR1200 first lah. I am pretty sure you will do that.

Then when you charge past Orchard Road, TP can hear you but can't see you.

Be the first HOG in Singapore to fly!

BTW, is there any place in Sing where they ceramic coat an exhaust pipe?

I'm backkk from SAMUI...

Nice decent ride. Compare Samui & Phuket, Phuket is so much better and cheaper.

Saw another Sporean GS Rider in Samui... Anyone from here?
