Hi,

I am just trying to help, actually I have a similar problem. It is actually caused by the injectors blockages due to dirty fuel filter as my fuel pump is new.

I went to my technician to service the injectors, changed the fuel filter, all okie after that.

My tech is Mengtong at sporting motor. Just happen that he knows how to service my old BMW. You can drop by, he takes one day to do everything.

My damages is below 100bucks, can't remember exact amount.

QUOTE=benz;6175621]hey fellow beemers,

i have a question:

i was hitting the road at about 120kmh and slowly accelerated up to 140kmh and during this time, the bike suddenly felt like it was in and out of fuel, the kinda of feeling when ur bike is hitting reserve, that kinda of feeling.

My tank is definitely full of gas as i had just top up. This went on for a while and i couldnt move past 140kmh. At one instance, the speed just cant move up even though i had full throttle on.

This happened again today, even at speeds of 100kmh, and i was really worried that there might be bigger issues like engine problems, coming up. Anyone can help answer these queries or have similar experiences? Any one can help?

Thanks

Ben

Hi FD,

thanks for your assistance, as a matter of fact, i visited Perfection yesterday. Alan told me that it is due to the fuel filter, and it was similar to what u had described.

As for the fix, i had to put the bike there for a day, which makes me think otherwise, i need my bike to move around...sigh... Probably i drop by Sporting since you said your job takes one day to complete everything.

Btw, do i need to make appointment or go down to let Mengtong take a look and diagnose the problem once more?

Does he have the parts in stock, you know sometimes you go to a shop, then the mechanic check here check there, then order the parts, send the despatch to pick it up, come back, delay here and there, one whole day gone without doing anything, this is very frustrating, precious time all wasted.

The damage is reasonable, defintely worth it if the problem can be fixed.

thanks once again

alamak...m-technik la say lights they have...bracket find your own....where to find ah guys??

You have to be more specific with what model you want. There are Hella lights of all shapes and sizes. You can buy them in Concord Shopping Centre beside M-Tech.

I bought mine there and have it mounted in Seng Kwang. Before that I brought it to a shop to get it mounted. To make a long story short, I wasted a lot of time and money for nothing, before going to S.K.

So I suggest you do some research. Decide which model to get. Read up on the net how and where other GS riders mount theirs. There are tons of pictures. Decide whether you like the final look. Then tell M-Tech where you want it mounted. Or just buy the lights and bring it to S.K. Their labour is a bit ex but I think you won't regret it. Many bike shops go to them anyway. So why not skip the middle man?

Alternatively, you can take a look at how a German guy staying here did his.

Hella GS

Maybe you can direct your questions to him?

For benz, maybe you would like to read up on the older postings here. Some of us order parts and accessories ourselves. Motorworks from the UK is popular. Depending on how many items you buy, it may be cheaper than getting from the local agent even including shipping.

Even if you don't order, it's good to know the price of the part so that you will know if a shop tries to bullshit you about "expensive BMW part". In other words, know how much of your $ end up as profit.

IMHO, that's one good thing about BMW. There are many sites listing the prices of spares clearly. Cheers.

Hi,

Sporting motors is just 3 shops BEFORE Perfection Motor.

Mengtong don't have the BMW fuel filter, you can go to Mtechnix to buy the fuel filter, then go to Mengtong to ask him to change and service.

It's really depends on your model of BMW, if it's a GS or RT or something more modern, I think Mtechnix can help you do the service.

I trust Mengtong, so I get my parts first and bring to him.

Up to you bro... Happy New Year.

Anyone here changed their signal bulbs before?

I realise that the bulb installed are different from those in the market here even though it is 12W10V... The filament is different.

Anyone notice?!

Don't know about the R1200. I replaced mine on a R1100 a few months back. Don't look different from normal ones...

I replaced it in front of the bike shop and made sure it is working well before driving off.

Saw this item on eBay and thinking of buying one of those tinted ones. Any comment on this item? Apart from risking my dollar getting summoned from TP, nothing else to take note of right? It comes in various colours too.
