Relax la, guys …. :)

Botak has a tendency not to take money when he knows you better. But I always want to push some money for anything that he does because one of my concerns is that if business is too bad then he may close shop and then liao liao I lose a good scooter mech :giddy: :giddy: . Botak is quite a McGuyver, he had a Mini (Mr. Bean’s car) that he fitted fuel injection and an auto-gearbox.

All mechs has their strengths and weaknesses, in Botak’s case, he does not have a tidy workshop cos’ unfortunately he had to operate out of a back-alley. Also the language barrier if the customer does not speak Hokkien or Mandarin.

Anyway, getting back on (the Beemer) track, my Ohlins suspension are due for servicing, probably a full servicing :giddy: . I do not know what will be done when servicing of suspensions are done, I suppose change oil, gas and the valves? Was quoted $600 from Bikelab. Any other recommendations apart from Sporting Motors?

Cheers

really depends on how the shocks were used/abused. I think the recommended interval is about 30k km (for road) but signs of wear and tear, like the bump stop coming to bits and oil leakage due to busted seals(regardless of milage) are indications that it needs to get sorted.

My front suspension was bottoming out, and finally it leaked (not dripping but visibly shiny). The rear well, the stop looks worn. Anyway, I do not think that the previous owners had done anything so it's time.

BTW, if i recall, I reckon the ex-ex-owner of your bike had serviced the rear (possibly the front) of your ohlins. Ask your ex-owner :)

got another avenue..Was told to look for Henry@ Vector One(near the sticker shop,Chiap Lee 219), front@ $ 260.00, Rear@ $ 280.00...but they would only do up the suspensions, you would to have your own bikeshop to disassemble and assemble from your bike, send it to the mentioned shop..

For $30 more to take out the shocks I reckon BikeLab has a better deal? What I am curious also is given the telelever, would conventional wisdom for setting up the front apply?

Cheers

Yes, i did rem Capt Vibro mentioning to me that he'd serviced the rear shock not too long ago....

but judging by the condition and mileage, i seriously doubt the "S" would require attention in that specific area..... :thumb:

Erm... more than that. PM's version came with the onboard computer and the mainstand. So it adds up to about $30k, machine price only. They have a registration package, with IU and COE included in, can't remember, about $1.6k plus.

It's basically plus plus plus until I lost track... but I'm still smiling signing away all the money!

My beemer is down now, removed the shocks to get it serviced. about 25,000 km on the ohlins, and confirmed the front has leaked, and the rear's stop is poor, Will do a full servicing and then see if the ohlins are worth their reputation.

To the blokes who just got their beemers, good for ya. Take care of your bikes and they will take care of you. :)

Cheers

Hello meow, I am your secret admirer at the r1150r.net. Read all your posting while I did the last minute homework before buying the roadster.

Hi, where you send your ohlins for servicing? and how much $$$?? thanks for sharing :)

Sending it to Sporting Motors. Dunno how much, sending it to Sporting cos' I know Joe and all along I've been buying my Ohlins, brake pads and Michelins etc from him. Sporting is being renovated now so work can only start next week.

Will keep you guys posted.

Aiya, what secret admirer? very scary. IMHO, the R1150R is competent but a under-rated bike. Check out R1150R.org; huge fan-base and technical support, dedicated to this model. haha, yes, it can be wonderfully weird, being a "beakster". :)

Have a good week ahead, fellas.

If serviced by the right mech it is definitely worth every single penny you pay. You know my case, I sent to the wrong mech and ended up Alan has to help me to sent it for re-servicing somewhere else.
