I am quite surprised to know that HP2 Sport is signal plug per cylinder... 52mm Dell'orto throttle body with swirl effect and bcos of the "swirl" effect, dual plugging is unnecessary... hmmm... "swirl" effect... is that what Cyclone is offering?

Hi.how u find ur new ride?had mine a few days now.hmm i can say it's an interesting and 'different' ride. i find this bike is

-heaavvy..could feel it between my legs and the steering

-the clutch is like a exercise tool for the wrist

-the gears are clunky.cant hear the grinding noise if u dont kick up properly

-it's got a quirky sound.a mix of engine and exhaust sounds.

but overall i'm happy with this german.it's torquey, has a comfortable posture and can take the corners.many years ahead :thumb:

Hi All,

Both the handle grips of my R1150R need to be replaced. How much should I expect if I replace them at PML or M-Technics?

Info that I have found in chigagobmwmotorcycle

61317694808 right grip USD32 (approx SGD36 after 20%off)

61317694807 left grip USD17 (approx SGD19 after 20% off)

As my friend is ordering parts from chigagobmwmotorcycle, I might throw in some parts if their price is better than Singapore.

Thanks.

On beemer handle-grips ... Should be about $24 or so from PML. I think cheaper from M-Technic if you are nearer there, save on petrol.:)

Specify model when you buy.

Thanks for the prompt reply meow, now I know some parts are cheaper if I get it from local, I should bring my shopping list to M-Technic one of these days:thumb:

Welcome.

Usually freight negates the savings on overseas parts unless they are used parts. Some parts are even cheaper from PML, plus no hassle on freight. Gotta do your homework. I stand corrected, but M-tech does not carry BMW parts usually, just a few common parts and mainly aftermarket stuff like Wunderlich and Touratech. Dangerous place to go .. keke

What are you thinking of buying? I am thinking of getting a screen for the roadie for long distance, care to work out an arrangement to share freight if circumstances permit? Waste not, want not. :)

Cheers

M tech should have stock for BMW grips,

definitely cheaper .. don't recall paying so much for my grips ..

call to confirm 6844 8973

but don't buy the look alike GPR or other brands ones ..

design same but quality is super far off ... and those goes for like S$8/-

I am buying spare parts that I plan to use in future like the cam cover (rubber) gasket, exhaust headers gasket, filters(oil, air and fuel), rear brake rotor (disc), Bowden cables and some fasteners (bolts, screws and nuts). bro paithron just changed the alternator belt and done the 60K servicing before he handed bike to me (thanks). The bike is running fine, I am just kiasu and cheapo.

Cat, I am troubling a friend who is staying in the states to bring these items for me when he visits Singapore in May this time, thus will save on the freight (but promised to treat him a chili crab meal). Will let you know if I mail order anything in future so we can share share the freight charges.

Hanwoon, thanks for the pointer. Save a lot of time and trouble for me.

My r1100r's suspension are harsh! the bike responds to every bump on the road.i've read on forums that many replace their springs after about 60 000kms.guess i'll go send it in for service.it's time too i think.Another issue ,the fuel indicator lights up when my bike only did 260km.is did correct?so fast for a 21litre tank

Matmat,

260 km is just about right in my book. Means that you have about 4 litres to go or just over 300? If so translate to about 15 or 16 km per litre. what is your consumption like?

My R1150 returns 17 km/l in urban, 19.5 km/l touring.

cheers

guess it's abt 16km/liter.was expecting a comparable fuel mileage of the ST11 which goes to 400 km range.damn .these twins are guzzlers.wish it can do 22km/l .that'll be godsend

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/201108/tarka.gif

Wow! the ST can reach 400 km? Is that based on its 28 litre tank? cos' that works out to about 15 km/l.

I reckon that with modern day conveniences, short range is not bad a handicap, save for petrol prices and poor consumption! I wonder if there is a perfect size engine for consumption, I guess not cos' the kups return about 40 km/l, but has a correspondingly low fuel cap and relatively low performance specs.

My mech told me .. scare fuel prices go get a bicycle .. keke, boy did I kena that one. :cheeky:

Thanks bogster and coolcat. i've test ride e 2007 R 1200 GS. the looks and feeling is great! very different from 1100 and 1150. i regret test riden it cos it made me wanted it even More. hehehe.btw, read the forums and no big problem so far except for the brakes and the main stand (e U shape type).

e clutch plate(wear n tear) and the abs (dun know if tis cause by wear n tear)fears me most as it cost a bomb, 1.8k and 2.8k respectively if down.

nonetheless, i will read n learn more on this project 1200 GS. keep me n other (want 2 b) gs converts update of this babe. tq.

The R1200Gs is so cool, plus the weight savings (on paper at least). I read somewhere that initially there were electrical teething problems but I am sure that it has been sorted out by now.

Looks like I will be keeping my beast, since it is my first Class 2 bike and I am having the Ohlins serviced.

If you are plonking down for a second-hand bike, consider the F800GS? seems like good reviews all round.

Cheers
