Hi bros

I just got myself a R1200C. May I know which shops are good at servicing BMW bikes. I know PML is definitely good. But it's a bit too costly. Any alternatives?

Thank you very much.

Ride safe.

Ducati Monster 400 FZ (2007 --- 2008)

Hey BMW riders, please take note of this, and spread the word around, see if the information is useful to anyone.

For the past 3 years i've been to KL, there is a bike, always covered up at the same spot, with tonnes of dust on the bike cover. The carpark attendant said the bike has been there, untouched for many years.

Curiousity got the better of me, this time round I peeked under the cover. Only saw the rear wheel, exhaust and number plate. So I gather,

Licence Plate - FS637S

Bike Model - BMW R1100GS ( If I'm not mistaken )

If anyone lost the above bike, or knows someone who lost the above bike, please get him to contact me.

Thanks.

its on sale ??? :giddy: :giddy:

hi guys.. need your advise on a small problem

just changed to 3x brake pads (goldfren i think)@ $35/pair. been 2 months now.

lately it has been squeaking a lot when i come to a stop and its really getting on my nerves. but at least the bite is there

i have tried using the air spray to blow away air dust, using brake contact cleaner and even using water to spray at the brake cylinders. not much good....

im just fall short of changing to OEM ones at PML.

any kind advise for me would be appreciated

SBS gives similar problem, my mate encountered on his BMW

i use EBC at the moment, no issues, i am using Brembo and Braking for my other ride, no such issues as well.

OEM are Brembo's and are value for money from PML, similar ones for Ducati's cost a real bomb!

blue F650GS at Looi's going for $26000

PML selling F650GS (any colour) + freebies on the road only $28,200 max. Not worth saving the $2K and end up losing out on the agent 2yrs warranty.

The squeal is caused by high-frequency vibes; or so I've heard. If the pads are new, I would ride (and bear) with it a while and see if the squeal goes away after the pads are bedded in. Meanwhile endure the jokes that your bike sounds like a SBS bus and the looks on pedestrians as your handsome steed stops near them and they realised you are not a bus. :p

There is actually an anti-squeal compound or spray that one applies to the back of the pads, which (as claimed) should get rid of the squeals. Not sure if we have it in Singapore. Some riders install anti-squeal shims. Alternatively can try some anti-seize compound, some recommended grease but I think grease and brakes don't mix well :giddy: .

Changing pads, tho it may seem drastic and not cheap, is IMHO, your best bet.

Cheers

Hi Spyder

The best system in terms of power gain, weight savings and sound is the Akra full titanium end can.

I just installed it on my 1200GS. Ordered it thru HKL and they installed it for me.

It's the same as the one carried by PML except it does not have the Akra logo laser etched and cheaper too by $200-300.

All in all just under $1500. I recommend it!. + you can pay by interest free installments on credit card.

You can try Perfection Motors near Paya Lebar. Call 67444933. Boss is Alan. Alternatively in AMK Tech Point on 5th floor near Seng Kwang Metal Works there is a BMW Mech too.

Good Luck
