any idea on the estimated damage on the OEM brake pads (front x2)

or is it better to buy off the spare parts shelf and go to Perfection or Mtechnik to finish up ?

No idea, just give the parts department a call, 63190539. Alternatively, see if Alan or M-Tech stocks them and get from there. I believe that Joe of Sporting Motor may have EBC pads available too. Fitting pads are not difficult, and does not need special tools. Most mechs should be able to do that.

Hi All,

my 99 r1100s use to have alt abs blinking after a few days of non-riding(low voltage). It will usually go off when i restart the bike after some riding, always love to hear the 'shhh' sound when riding off knowing the abs is working fine.

Few days ago when i rode off, i noticed a louder then usual 'shhh' and from then on the abs starts to alt blinking once i turn on the key (usually it will blink together and only alt after i start the engine) and i couldnt reset it even after prolong riding... anyone have similiar problems.... I know the battery is dying but will this kill the entire abs pump?

Very vague, your symptoms. From what I can gather, a combustion problem, which could be fuel delivery or air / fuel mix. Check and tighten manifolds, and change your fuel if it's old.

Alternatively fuel pump? Tho I think that is unlikely since that is an either have it / don't have it situation.

Another thing that I can think of is the throttle bodies balancing.

Cheers

Hiya,

Just updating you guys on some immigration stuff. I went on Sat afternoon to 2nd Link to register for the BIKES biometric thingy, and was told that for Singaporeans now it is "integrated" so no need registration. This is in contrast to the end of September when I was told to bring passport photo for registration.

So now from what I am told, all Singaporeans can use the biometric lane for bikes.

Cheers

Yes, I know about the website and told the officers that that is the reason why I am there to register. And the explanation was that it was not updated (although the site was updated in early Oct 2008).

Well, the officers were insistent and said there was no need to process us, said that now BIKES registration only for foreign workers, so who are we to argue and insist?

Also, BIKES counter only opened during peak hours. Not available during non-peak hours.

Sorry if this raises more questions than answers.

Cheers

Andy's info is proby up to date.

I have recently dealt with ICA on some citizenship issue.

The website says Go to KL embassy in person and they will sort you out.

The embassy in KL sent me packing back to HQ. The HQ @ lavender says another and passes the buck back to KL.

When I told HQ that it was KL who sent me their way, the reply came in the form of a vaguely worded message cut & pasted from the website (which again points you back to the 2 places).

End of the day it was the duty sergeant at the Tuas checkpoint who saved the day. Clear cut instructions (yes, she insisted that she was right) and spared me 2 months of bureaucratic cowdung.

ah leong always say ... dunno? dont do!

just returned from the woodlands kastam.

i asked about biometic lane too. the staff there told me its open to all singaporeans.

but only for single riders

but i doubt my 1150GS with 2 side boxes can squeeze thru the woodlands side. probably the tuas station would be nice

Sorry new beemer rider here... just enquiring, any beemers with side panniers having difficulty passing thru both normal and biometric lane?
